Who would benefit from implementing Strategy #5: Analyze?

Strategy #5: Analyze benefits you, the Zazzle designer, online business owner. Specifically, if you are thinking of starting on Zazzle and want to make sure your actions are going to get you results. Oftentimes new Zazzle designers think when they open a store and post products for sale, they will easily start selling. The truth is, real results do not come that easily. When you can implement Strategy #5: Analyze into the beginning of your Zazzle journey it will help you have the information you need to make sales. You can’t just have the creative aspect to make Zazzle work for you, you need to have the business skills and analysis too! By paying attention to your key performance indicators and collecting this data you will build a solid foundation for your business.

This is also beneficial for Zazzle designers who are struggling to make money on the platform. We also started from zero on Zazzle. The key here is to figure out the story behind the lack of sales. You can’t be afraid to look into the numbers, because they will give you the opportunity to learn and take action to improve!

What needs to be done to incorporate Strategy #5: Analyze in your Zazzle business?

To align your Zazzle business with your values and goals it’s important to implement certain things to help you create a business that’s conducive to what you want your lifestyle to be.

1. Look at the numbers. We recommend you monitor monthly the following numbers: sales, product views, number of products made and time worked. You can get a much clearer perspective of how your store is performing if you monitor these numbers consistently. Keep track of these numbers and compare them over time.

2. Understand the numbers: The sooner you track your sales, product views, number of products made and time worked, the sooner you’ll be able to gauge the kind of key performance indicators you’ll need to have to make a sale. This will help you determine if your niche or designs are working well for your business and generating sales. This will tell you if you did your job well, if you reached your sales goals etc. Once you understand the numbers you can use them to help you make business decisions.

3. Know what to do with the numbers. We recommend you make 100 products per month and work only 20 hours per month. If you don’t make that number of products, plan to make 100 next month. If you are taking longer, use  techniques to be more productive. If products don’t have views, revisit the title and tags you assigned  to them. If you are receiving views but no sales, find out if you should have sales with a certain number of views. If so, then design and templates are the reason for lack of sales. Your job is to then make sure the photo and text templates are user friendly and also research whether your design is meeting the customer’s needs.
