There is a range of reasons that hold aspiring entrepreneurs back from taking the plunge, so today we (Jen and Elke) want to address these objections and talk through how you can overcome them.
People talk about starting an online business as a side hustle or method of making supplementary income. But the truth is that things are more uncertain now than ever – so it this the right time to start an online business. The answer is YES!
With COVID-19 and a looming recession, we find ourselves in a similar situation to when we started in Zazzle ourselves. That was in 2008, when there was a housing recession and it was really just the beginning of e-commerce and we did extremely well. This can be YOUR time
In truth, people thought we were crazy for diving into an online business. But 14 years later – it was the best decision we ever made and are now living our dream lives.
Now we help others to live their dream lives and have had many successful clients go through our coaching programs, which is why we think this is such an important topic to cover. So let’s dive into fears of starting an online business and how to overcome them!
Zazzle is a huge online shopping platform, but many people aren’t aware of it. It’s not as mainstream as platforms like Shopify or Etsy, but it’s really a fabulous way to make a passive income as a seller, as we know from experience. It can change the lives of many online entrepreneurs!
Many people think of selling physical products as a brick-and-mortar business, but Zazzle is the perfect platform to use to sell online and make a stable income. But many people don’t tap into it simply because they’re completely unaware it exists and don’t know how it works. We’re changing this perception every day and proving it’s an amazing online business opportunity.
Other aspiring entrepreneurs see so many possible business paths but they’re overwhelmed by all the options and wondering if they will work for them.
In this case, it’s really important to figure out what resonates with you so that you can zero in on what you want to do.
Another overwhelming thing about the prospect of starting an online business can be how much unknown exists in it. You may be questioning what skills you need and how you need to adjust your habits to make it work.
Here, it’s easy to get stuck in a paralysis of fear when it comes to addressing the ambiguity and taking that first step. This is understandable and it’s easy to be overwhelmed by this, which can really take its toll.
When toying with the idea of starting an online business, many aspiring entrepreneurs worry if their business will realistically work. There are no guarantees in life, but you need to stack the probability of something working in your favor.
If you want a business that has an established history and that has worked for others, Zazzle is an amazing option. It has a proven business model and a reputation behind it, making it more of a safe choice.
That brings us to our last reason that individuals commonly resist starting an online business! It’s not feeling like you have the skills to do it and experiencing what’s called imposter syndrome. When this occurs, you will feel like you can’t do something or like you’re being fake and not living up to the standards that you should be.
This usually occurs when you’re doing something new, because it makes you feel less qualified to do it than someone else. For instance, if you’re selling something online, you may think, “why would anyone want to buy something from me? How can I compete with others?”
This leads to us putting a lot of pressure on ourselves, but remember that you are qualified and you do have the skills you need! It’s just new, and you’re navigating that the best you can.
There could be a whole new future for you that’s not even apparent because you’ve held yourself back because of these reasons. Believe in yourself, switch things around and get the help you need. If you do these things, you could have an incredible online business that will forever change your life!
