The things that make Halloween scary are all in your mind. Maybe that’s why it’s fun because you know it’s not real. But it’s not fun to realize that you create real obstacles in your mind that stop you from achieving what you want. These are the lies you tell yourself without even being aware of them. You just see the results from these lies in what your life looks like now.

This article will help you get rid of these lies. Your improved self-esteem, your increased ability to get things done, and knowing how to sell well on Zazzle, will all happen when you frighten these scary lies away.

Monsters Hiding in the Closet

When you were a little kid, did you have scary monsters under your bed or hiding in your closet? Those were easy to fight because your mom or dad would come in to scare the monsters away. Now that you’re grown up, you still have monsters but you accept them and let them live in your closet while you go through life.

You might be thinking, “That’s harsh, Elke!” but I am here to help you. So dig deep and answer yourself honestly if these are lies you tell yourself. I personally still have times when the “I’m not good enough monster” comes out of the closet to scare me.

But I have found tools to help me keep that monster securely locked up most of the time. My goal is to kick that monster right out of the closet one day soon. I use tools to minimize the monster’s effect on me. You can do this too.

It’s time for you to realize that your monsters need to be scared out of your closet (or at least locked in securely). They are affecting your ability to be as successful as you want. I have listed the most common lies that are affecting your self-esteem and stopping you from believing and achieving.

Examples of monsters hiding in your closet:

  • I’m not good enough
  • It’s hard to learn and do new things
  • I can’t compete
  • I don’t think I can accomplish such a big goal

Do you say these things to yourself?

Solutions to Banish the Monsters

Do you want to improve your self-esteem, feel like you can take on new challenges, and believe that you can succeed? The key to kicking your monsters out of the closet is to shift your mindset.

Here are 4 great ways to change your mindset:

  1. Affirmations
  2. The act of doing
  3. Think it is possible
  4. Get a Mentor

Affirmations

Affirmations are a fantastic way to create a positive mindset. They can help you feel better (self-esteem) and believe you can take on and learn new things that you were always afraid to do. These new things are what you need to do to become successful.

You can read more about affirmations and how to use them in this article.

The Act of Doing

Taking action and then seeing the positive results from doing is a powerful way to change your belief patterns on a subconscious level. It teaches your brain that it’s not scary to do new things and that you can compete.

Do this exercise many times. Pick a task that is new for you. It should be only slightly difficult (achievable) but something you have not done before and a task in which you will see the result quickly. It can be anything in your life and does not have to be Zazzle related. Then notice the results.

By getting out of your comfort zone and achieving small inconsequential (in your mind) goals quickly, you will give your brain stories from the past which it can retrieve to make your decision on the next more difficult task. Previously, when faced with a task that is new, you would think it is hard because it is new or something you have not done before.

After training your brain to make different assumptions by the act of doing, the signal from your brain will tell you “It’s fine. You’ve done this before and it worked. This is just a new version. You’ve got this!”

Think It Is Possible

When my mentoring clients start out with me, their vision of what is possible for them is limited. They have put limitations on themselves based on their past experiences and what people around them tell them is possible. Once they get the tools they need from the courses, they begin to see, through the act of doing, that more is possible than they imagined.

In Malcolm Gladwell’s book, “The Outliers”, he talks about how new habits take a minimum of 30 days of daily implementation to become a regular habit. This works the same when changing your mindset about what you think can be possible for you, except it takes even longer for a mindset change. That is why ongoing mentoring is so crucial to my client’s success.

You are undoing deeply instilled thinking that your previous experiences and surroundings influenced all of your life. If you want to change, you must undo years of beliefs you acquired from your parents, friends, co-workers, environment, and your past life experiences that have shaped in your mind your thoughts about what is possible.

Find ways to help you think it is possible for you to achieve what you want. Surround yourself with like-minded people who are doing what you do and are striving to achieve similar goals. Your brain will soak in this new world and begin to think it is possible to achieve anything you want.

Be inspired by this article about thinking it is possible.

Get a Mentor

Only a mentor can provide the continual guidance and support you will need to change your mindset over time. My clients who are the most successful on Zazzle are the ones who have received the most amount of mentoring.

If you want to make the leap from earning a little to earning what you dream of then you need a mentor.

Here is a powerful article on the effect of choosing to work with a mentor.

Phantom Truths

Phantom Truths are lies that you think are true. They feel so real to you but they are a figment of your imagination. That means once you realize what they are you can take steps to overcome them.

I have listed the most common Phantom Truths that stop you from getting things done and being the best you can be.

Examples of Phantom Truths:

  • I don’t know where to start
  • It needs to be perfect
  • I need to do it all in one step
  • It will get done when I have the time

Solutions to Phantom Truths

Procrastination and perfection are the reasons behind the phantom truths that you tell yourself. I struggle with these days and know without a doubt that I could even do better than I already am if I could just use procrastination and perfection for good instead of evil.

As an artist, I struggle daily to make a design perfect before posting. Then I see that my design is still under the saved designs 2 to 3 weeks later because I procrastinated. To solve this I made a pact with myself that I would always post a product I started to design. It will also not take more than an hour for a complicated design and a few minutes for an easy design. This has helped me tremendously, even though it stresses me out to not have it perfect.

Procrastination has also halted me at several stages throughout my life. But I have found what works for me is a combination of efficiency and productivity techniques that businesses use to help their employees be more productive. The same techniques that work for me will not work for you.

I recommend that you research various techniques, try several out, and then use the ones that work for you. You have to find techniques that suit your personal behaviors to ensure that you get the results you want.

Damaging Disguises

On Halloween, you put on a costume or disguise to be someone else for the night for fun. In real life you can, without realizing it, put on disguises that make you someone else than who you really meant to be. Plus you’ve got these disguises on for more than a night and it’s definitely not fun.

These daily disguises are the assumptions that you make about something you can’t do but that you could easily fix by getting help.

They become damaging disguises when you choose not to find the help you need to take them off. The damages include not reaching your full potential, staying in your current unwanted situation, and not even knowing the opportunities you have missed out on.

Do you want to sell really well on Zazzle so that you can achieve your dream goals?

You have to ask yourself, why am I not there yet? It’s because you have damaging disguises that you are hiding under like the ones I mention below.

Examples of Damaging Disguises

  • I don’t know what niches are popular so I’ll just randomly make 1,000s of products to flood the Zazzle marketplace to make big money
  • There are so many sellers on Zazzle already that my products won’t get noticed. The Zazzle marketplace is saturated and I won’t be able to compete.
  • The reason I don’t make money on Zazzle is that I am bad at social media and promotion

Solutions to Damaging Disguises

To discard the disguises you are hiding under is to realize that these are your excuses to avoid learning the proper action steps to achieve your goals. Maybe you have tried to learn from someone else or on your own in the past but did not see the results you wanted. The best way to succeed is to learn from someone that has accomplished what you want to achieve.

Product Posting

How much do you need to sell to achieve your dream income on Zazzle? For me, it is 100K EARNINGS per year. Since I have my royalty set at 10% for most products, I have to sell a million dollars a year. You should do the same simple calculation to find out what amount you need to sell. To make the math easy let’s assume 10 months, so I need to SELL 100K of Zazzle products per month or 25k per week. Now I can figure out what amount of each product I need to sell to make that total. The numbers seem huge and unmanageable and yet I have sold around 100K of Zazzle products per month for the past 6 years.

How can you reach your Zazzle goal numbers? Posting 1,000s of products for sale on Zazzle is the wrong way to make massive sales. You need a targeted approach that has been tested and proven to work. You can learn from your own past Zazzle sales, even if you just have a few, and start building your sales strategy. Any sale is an indicator of what customers want, you just need to then research and find out what else your design could be sold on and post it for sale. Your other option is to learn from someone who has had success at what you want to accomplish.

The Perfect Niche(s)

Finding the perfect niche(s) that you will make sales in with your designs, requires you to do research to find out what’s trending. The niches I am successful in may not be your kind of niche and vice versa. It’s important to find out where you can best use your creative designs (photography, artwork, or graphic designs) to be successful. Even if a niche is “popular”, you will not sell if you can not create designs that the customer will buy. The secret is finding where there is customer demand in a niche and providing a design on a product that the customer wants to buy. To help you with this you can read this article on finding your perfect niche.

Promotion

Promotion is important to get your products to be seen by more potential customers but you can still make sales without being a social media expert. I personally use other ways besides massive social media efforts to get my products promoted and sold. I teach these ways and my course members have had great success using my methods, even though they are not comfortable with social media or have a big following.

Mentoring

A mentor is experienced and trusted guide and advisor. I always improve my skills and achieve what I want by seeking the advice of mentors. Besides paying for mentoring programs, online courses, and live training, I read books, watch videos, and listen to podcasts. I always choose what is right for me to learn what I am missing to get to where I want to go.

I advise you to find a mentor and get the training you need. Find out what works for you. What do you need to learn to get to where you want to go? What is your budget? How much time do you have to invest in learning or doing? How can you learn in the quickest possible way and start taking action as soon as possible?  Based on your answers, you can then choose how you will learn what you need to take the next step to your perfect future.

You now have many solutions available to you to begin scaring these lies away for good and begin seeing your  Zazzle success more clearly.

What have you learned?

  • A positive mindset is key to achieving your biggest dream goals
