As Zazzle designers, the ability to be creative is so important. It’s how Zazzle designers build their livelihood and make their money. To be a creative entrepreneur you must be always in a creative flow to successfully be able to monetize your creativity.
If you’re struggling to create things for your business and you have a creative block, this will stop you from sharing your gift with the world and monetizing your talents.
As creatives, so often we are focused on becoming perfectionists and we need everything to be in alignment with who we are as a designer. When we have a creative block this stops us from moving forward. We can get caught up in our minds and our feelings and it can stop us from being able to use our creativity. There are many different reasons these feelings can come up, things like personal struggles, business challenges, etc so it’s important to identify why you’re feeling the way you are and address it.
This flow is so important because we as designers have to tap into it to be successful. We must know how to translate creativity into forms that other people will appreciate. Your goal should be to function at your highest level so you can translate your talent and share it with others. The designs you create have the opportunity to emotionally connect with your audience. This flow is also crucial to your monetary success, without creating genuine products you won’t find as much success. People can tell if something you create was made genuinely or not, the energy that comes from something made with passion behind it is so different than forcing a design to try and make money.
We have created an easy system of journals that can be used to banish the creative blocks that you experience throughout your journey as a creative entrepreneur.
1. Gratitude Journal: This journal should have daily entries, and should include anything and everything positive going on in your life. By reminding yourself of the positive things it will help you shift your mood and perspective.
2. Accomplishment Journal: This journal should have daily or weekly entries and should include all of your accomplishments. It doesn’t matter how big or small the accomplishments are, these will remind you that you’re making progress and moving forward. It’s also a great reminder to look back on and see all of the things you’ve accomplished along the way.
3. Inspirational Journal: If you’re someone who enjoys crafts this will be super fun for you! We recommend this journal have no lines, focus on having short notes, cutouts from magazines, or sketches. We recommend creating it as a paper mood board full of things that inspire you. The pictures and sayings will help give you ideas that you can draw inspiration from. This is helpful for you to figure out what things resonate with you as a creative.
We hope you have a much better understanding of how you can get rid of the creative blocks as a creative entrepreneur and Zazzle Designer. All creatives can have mental blocks that stop them from creating, it’s important that you work through these blocks and don’t let them stop you from being successful. Our journal system is one of the most effective ways to work through these creative blocks and is something that we both use for our Zazzle business.
