Being a freelance designer can be very rewarding. You are able to express your creative abilities and work at your own pace. Not to mention that your clients can be virtually anywhere in the world. However, there is a lot of work involved with being a freelance designer. One day you might realize that you might want more creative freedom and even more flexible work hours. Or that you would rather spend more time being creative than trying to promote your business. And that you want more clients than you can actually handle. What can you do?

This is what Zoe asked herself one day when she realized she wanted to make an alternative income besides her freelance design business. When she started looking up how to make passive income online, she stumbled across Zazzle. She was amazed that she could post her designs for sale and earn an income online. Her world changed when she started making money. She realized that she could use her design skills to earn a living other than being solely a freelance designer.

Zazzle Allows Freelance Designers Creative Freedom

Being a freelance designer allows you to be creative and use your inspirational intuition. However, the projects that you complete are always influenced by the vision of your client. When designing on Zazzle, you are given creative freedom. You can design what you want and when you want. It allows you to experiment and play with your designs. Marketing Your Designs and Services is Easier Than Ever

Freelance designers are responsible for many things. Not only do they have to have design skills, but they also need to have promotional skills as well. If their services aren’t promoted efficiently, they will not have clients. When designing on Zazzle, you do not have to worry about this. Of course, you can externally promote your products. But due to Zazzle’s unique marketplace, your designs are easily found. No need to spend hours and large amounts of money promoting your services.

Zazzle Gives You the Opportunity to Have Numerous Clients Worldwide Per Design

Zazzle is an internationally known print-on-demand company. People from all around the world come to their sites to purchase products. She realized that the Zazzle eCommerce platform gave her so many advantages allowing her to grow as a creative entrepreneur and achieve her goal sooner of having her own successful passive income business.

Introducing: Zoe Strawbridge from Gorjo Designs

I’m Zoe Strawbridge: owner of Gorjo Designs, self-declared sugar addict, café-hopper, dog-cuddler, and your resident aesthetics guru and interior/graphic design nerd. My style is one that combines simple, minimal designs with purpose and heart.

Running my own business was definitely a dream of mine but I never thought it would actually become a reality. But everything changed for me about 5 years ago when I returned from a Summer in Paris studying interior design.

Zoe’s Story

At that time my day job was in Finance, but I was creative at heart and I had an undeniable passion for design. During the years prior to Paris, I had been working during the day and attending night classes at a local college, finally managing to complete a Diploma in Interior Design in mid-2013.

The Paris experience had been a real eye-opener. It really got me thinking about what I really valued and what I really wanted to do with my life.

So there I was this one day, sitting in my office cubicle, and I thought to myself “I’m going to give this a go, I’m going to do something I can be proud of”.. and soon after that, Gorjo Designs was born!

Because my qualifications were in interior design, I started out solely offering styling and decorating services. But as my business grew, I found that people were asking me to design invitations for their weddings and events. And I found that I really loved doing it! Because I am a total perfectionist, and because I love learning new things, I decided I would need to get some formal training in graphic design so I decided to enroll in some online courses that could teach me the full Adobe suite.

That really sparked the whole graphics side of things. My business still offers both interior styling and graphic design services, but I am actually doing more graphic design work. This is also due to the fact that about a year ago, I really got serious about my Zazzle store and have been devoting a lot more time to that.

Why Zoe Chose Zazzle For Her Business

Zazzle became intriguing to me because of the opportunity to make passive income. I saw other designers using the platform and I thought “I could do that, I’ve already got the skills so why not”? With my custom graphic design services, I charge per hour which means I am limited to serving only one client at a time, and once that design is finished, that’s it. Whereas with Zazzle, I can serve many people at once and my designs are there forever.

The Zazzle platform is an amazing vehicle that allows me to get my designs out into the world and affords me the freedom to experiment with my creativity because it doesn’t cost anything to try and test different things out.

Zazzle is extremely easy to use – very user-friendly, both for customers and designers. Because of this, I can spend more time actually designing. And less time doing things like uploading pics, filling out lots of info, etc. It is literally a stress-free environment because Zazzle takes care of all time-consuming things like fulfillment, customer service, administration, etc.

I love that I can focus solely on the design process. That I can just have days where I am totally immersed in my creativity. That’s what really fuels me.

The Benefits Zazzle Gives Zoe and Her Business

Zazzle allows my designs to be found organically and this is a huge deal for me because I am not so good at self-promotion. I don’t know how to be too ‘sales-y’. But I am working on this! Using the platform has allowed me to sell to people all over the world. People that if it weren’t for Zazzle, would have never discovered my designs.

But the most exciting thing for me is the fact that I can have my business running ALL THE TIME. Even when I am sleeping or on holiday, I can make money. That is totally mind-blowing for me!

How Taking The ‘7 days to Success’ and ‘30 Day Profit Plan’ Courses Have Been a Game Changer for Zoe and Her Business

I really got serious about Zazzle last year after taking the ‘7 days to Success’ and ‘30 day profit plan’ courses. After taking the courses I started to see the potential that this had for my business. I got super motivated by Elke’s stories and case studies.

I loved both courses because they have so much substance. You give you actually actionable steps that are logical and easy to follow. There is also an analytical aspect to getting results which really appeals to me. But above all that, Elke and Jen teach with their hearts. This has meant everything to me and is what has made this Zazzle journey so beneficial for my business.

I can’t tell you how many times I have referred back to the course material to help me out and guide me in the right direction.

The courses have propelled my business forward in this amazing direction. I just can’t wait to see what Zazzle successes I have in the future!
