Are you ready to profit from the wedding niche in 2020?
Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve are the most popular days for couples to get engaged. Once the date is set, couples start to shop for their wedding in early 2020 and keep on shopping as their wedding day approaches. That’s when you, as a creative online entrepreneur, can begin profiting from the wedding niche. Whether you sell items on Etsy, Amazon, Shopify, or Zazzle (an online shopping site), you must be familiar with the wedding industry and trends in the niche to profit. Are you currently profiting from this multiple-billion-dollar niche or would you like to get up to speed quickly? In this article, I, provide you with tips and resources to get you started and improve your profits in the wedding niche.
License or Sell Your Creative Wedding Designs and Products Online
My daughter Jen and I, Elke Clarke, have profited from the wedding niche for over 10 years by selling wedding invitations and wedding accessories as part of our overall online business.
The most profitable way for us has been to license our unique wedding designs to Zazzle. We add our designs to virtual products like wedding invitations and other items for the entire wedding customer journey. Then Zazzle prints them and takes care of the rest, while we collect a royalty. It’s the best way to be the most profitable as an entrepreneur in the online wedding niche compared to Etsy, Amazon, and Shopify.
Jen and I teach our students how they can be successful in the wedding niche too through our Wedding Invitation Bootcamp™. Our students can then use what they learned to be successful on Zazzle and other online E-Commerce platforms like Etsy, Amazon, and Shopify. It’s a great way to increase your profits.
Get to Know The Wedding Niche
You might think it’s easy to sell in the wedding industry. But to be profitable, you must know the wedding niche extremely well. There is etiquette to follow. You must know lots of details like; what cards are in an invitation suite, what wording is correct, different traditions, and more.
Do your research. There’s a lot to learn! Start with wedding magazines. Check out online wedding websites. Browse on Pinterest and Instagram. Go to bridal shows. Get as much information as you can so that you can create and design products that brides will want to buy.
Keep Up With Yearly Wedding Trends
The wedding niche is constantly changing and you must keep up with the latest trends in order to profit. Every year there are new color trends, wording trends, fonts that are trending, trending design styles, and more. These trends influence all products that you may have for sale. Last year’s best-selling design may not sell this year if it is out of style or not trending.
You must be able to adapt quickly and update your inventory yearly. It’s important to get help to find out what the trends are for each new year. Then you can quickly create your new inventory to be ready to sell. The newly engaged bride wants the latest and best for her special day. Can you provide her with what she wants in 2020?
Be Ready in January for Wedding Sales Throughout The Year
Your products must be ready at the right time in order to profit from the wedding niche throughout the entire year. When you dive in and get to know the wedding niche, you will understand the wedding journey that the couple goes on, starting with the engagement. The wedding couple’s journey dictates what type of products they will need at each stage.
Be ready. Have inventory in your online stores to cover all of these stages to maximize your sales.
Increase Your Profits with Matching Wedding Products
The most obvious example of provided matching products is the wedding invitation suite. As the creative designer, you can provide, for sale, the invitation, rsvp cards, information cards, envelopes, return address labels, and more all with the same design theme.
Do you have all the products offered for sale in the invitation suite with the same design on them or are you missing certain items?
Use the Right Paper Types For Zazzle Marketplace Search Ability
Zazzle recently reorganized its paper products. The change is extremely beneficial for customers. It is not that easy to navigate as a designer. If you choose the wrong paper type to create your wedding products for sale, they will not show up when a customer searches for weddings in the Zazzle Marketplace. This will reduce your chances of sales even if your titles and tags are correct and your designs are amazing.
You must make sure you that post your designs on the correct paper product types according to the Zazzle Paper Breakout when you start creating a new paper product for sale. You will find this article that Jen published and the video tutorial she created on The Zazzle Paper Breakout extremely helpful. Click here to access the article.
Promote Your Wedding Designs and Products on Social Media
Brides love to go online and check out ideas, trends, and the latest unique designs. They want to make their day special and unique. You have special and unique designs, but they need to find your products.
Use Pinterest and Instagram to promote your wedding niche products. To attract brides’ attention use unique ways to visually display your products such as invitations and accessories. You have 3 seconds before they scroll past your post or pin. Make it count!

I have been enrolled to do the Wedding Invitation Bootcamp since about Feb 2019 & haven’t had time to complete the course.
I am presently making the most of the holiday break to get into it & would like to be part of the critiquing session on 9th Jan.
Do I need to do anything (apart from the homework tasks) to reserve a place for the live session?
Cheers
June
Hi June. If you have not yet received a critique, then watch the training videos for Day 1 and 2, do the work BEFORE January 9th. Then on January 9th, I will critique your homework for Day 1 and 2 live.
