The wedding market is very lucrative, but it’s also very specific. To profit, you need to do your research so that you can offer what brides want and be competitive. You need to know the popular trends and which types of products to include in your wedding suite. If you aren’t informed as far as what’s trending in the wedding niche and what you can offer your customers, you will not be able to profit in the way you want to.
You have to use the proper paper product to make your wedding invitation or other products that belong to that product suite. Although the card itself that you use for the wedding invitation card is the same as other cards Zazzle sells, Zazzle has specific product types for wedding products.
To help you get your products featured in the correct department tree on the Zazzle marketplace, Zazzle puts specific tags on certain paper types. Make sure you check out our other podcast episodes and training resources to get a handle on what you need to know when it comes to the paper type you select for products. This way, you will be choosing the right starting point to ensure that a particular product gets sorted into the right place so you can get those sales and become profitable.
In terms of the Zazzle wedding niche, make sure you have the proper structure for your wedding suite. What we mean by this is to have the correct products that go into the wedding invitation suite. For example, brides usually want to buy wedding invitations that will match with other cards they plan to send out, such as RSVP cards, reception cards, information cards etc.. By making sure your product suite with the matching design offers all of this, you are creating an opportunity for more sales and thus more profit.
If you don’t offer this variety for the customer, they may go looking for another designer that offers the full invitation suite that they want. The core product pieces you’ll want to incorporate into your Zazzle store would be invitation cards, RSVP cards, reception cards, and accommodation or details cards. Alongside that, you’ll want the envelope that is used to send out the cards and rsvp envelopes for the guest to send back their reply. You can also add on address labels, stickers, and liners. Our advice is to focus on the core product pieces first and as the products with a certain design sells, you can add more products to your wedding suite.
The last key point you have to be aware of when it comes to profiting in the Zazzle wedding niche is to determine the wording and format required for each product in the wedding invitation suite so that the brides will buy each of the products. Zazzle is a fully customizable website that gives the customer lots of freedom to customize as they please. However, the customer should still be prompted and supplied with the right text fields to fill out based on wedding etiquette.
If you offer a wedding invitation product that doesn’t include certain information that the customer needs to fill out, they will most likely go shop elsewhere.
We always implement The 3 Pillars: Perceivable, Passive, Profitable™ business framework in all that we do to be successful on Zazzle. To be profitable, you must provide these specific worded templates for specific types of weddings. The customer could love your design, but if you don’t offer all the templates and text fields necessary, they won’t purchase. We encourage you to do the research to know what is needed on each specific wedding invitation suite card. By doing this, your customer will appreciate you and your product so much more and will most likely purchase from you.
Many Zazzle designers want to break into the Zazzle wedding niche but few profit from it. That is why we created The Wedding Invitation Bootcamp™ which teaches Zazzle designers how to create wedding invitation suites and accessories specifically for the Zazzle marketplace. This bootcamp will teach you what kind of card types to use, what sizes you need, what information needs to be put on each card, as well as niche trends. We will show you step by step how to build your first wedding suite and provide you a critique of the design and how to market it in a collection. We’d love to connect with you so we can chat and see if The Wedding Invitation Bootcamp™ is the right fit for you.
Let’s recap the four key concepts we covered in today’s episode. We covered the need: to do your research within the wedding niche so you can compete; to know the proper card types to use to create a wedding suite so brides will buy; to add the correct product types to the suite so you make the most sales; to use the right wording and etiquette in the design of the wedding suite so your customer does not abandon the cart.
