It is essential to take control of today in these uncertain times with COVID-19 changing life as we know it. With so much uncertainty about what will happen tomorrow, anxiety can build up and paralyze us from taking action today. As solo entrepreneurs, the success of our business depends on us to show up. To avoid feeling helpless and overwhelmed, you must take control of how you show up today so that you create your best future.
In this article, I discuss ways that you can take control. My daughter, Jen, and I, have set up extra ways to help make taking control easier for you during this time of uncertainty.
Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
I love this quote by Dale Carnegie “Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.”
Stay focused on today because it is the only day you have control over. Yesterday is gone and can not be changed. Tomorrow has not yet come and still holds new possibilities. Your actions today, how you show up in your business, how you make decisions based on your situation, and how you act towards others and treat yourself are THE ONLY THINGS you can control.
Below I have listed ways that you can use to take control daily and show up #LIKEABOSS in your business and life even in uncertain times.
Seek Daily Motivation from People You Trust
My daughter, Jen, and I coach solo entrepreneurs on how to build an e-commerce business using Zazzle (a print-on-demand company). To help you stay motivated during these crazy times we are going live daily (Monday to Friday) with our 10 Minute – Motivational Moment – Video Series on my Facebook Page.
Click here to like my FB page to be notified when we go live. See you then.
Yesterday the quote we discussed was the Dale Carnegie Quote “Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.” We give you insights and action steps that you can take to help you take control of your own current situation in these uncertain times.

Be Part of a Like-Minded Community for Connection
During these times, when we have been told to work from home and not socialize, we lack social connections. These connections provide comfort and a sense that we are not alone in this journey. They also boost your mood and immune system. Seek out ways to stay connected for your sanity and your health.
We invite you to be part of our free Creative and Ambitious Facebook Community. Connect with other e-commerce entrepreneurs who use Zazzle. We are a thriving international online community of Biz Babes who support each other in positive ways. It’s the place to be to stay connected and grow as an entrepreneur.

Be Creative Daily to Boost Your Immune System
Medical studies show that being creative stimulates your brain and boosts your immune system. There is no better way to be creative than to design and post products on Zazzle.
Have fun trying new designs, exploring new niches, and getting lost in the creative process. Your immune system will thank you.
Whether you are part of our E-Commerce Accelerator™ Beginners Zazzle Course OR our Profit by Design Academy™ Intermediate Zazzle Course, revisit the design modules. Hone your design skills so that Zazzle customers are excited to buy your products.
Be Productive to Take Control
When you post new designs on Zazzle you are also being productive. This is KEY to taking control of each day.
If you are not used to working at home you may find that you lack discipline in managing your time. You’ll realize time passes by quickly.
You may find that you get into a bad cycle where days go by without a sense of accomplishment because you feel obligated to attend to more “in your face” obligations. I’m talking about household chores, bored kids, commitments to elderly care, and chatting to friends and family about what’s going on. You get the idea.
However, if you commit and take action you spend at least an hour on your Zazzle business per day (Monday to Friday), and you will feel in control. Make sure you use your time effectively posting products for sale and promoting. This will make you feel like you have some control over your future because these actions could lead to future income.
Be Part of Challenges to Stay Motivated and Active
If you can be part of activities that have deadlines, this keeps you on track. You are obligated to show up. By committing to something you have a purpose and are being accountable to the event.
You will also learn new skills that will benefit you in the future. Taking part in something that will influence your future in a positive way is the best thing you can do right now to be in control.
Jen and I are holding several challenges during the months of March and April. Join us to learn, stay accountable and take control.
You can be part of our “Start Your Business Challenge” going on this week. You can watch the replays if you can’t be on living.

Stay Healthy and Take Control
In this uncertain time, make sure to be informed about how to stay healthy and take action to do so.
After that, you must take steps to take control of each day. Your sanity and business will thank you.
Use the suggestions we made above to focus on your mental well-being and the state of your Zazzle business.
I started my million-dollar business during the recession in 2008
This statement is not to brag. But in uncertain times, people still succeed. I started my Zazzle business in 2008, right at the height of the recession. Also at the time, people were not comfortable shopping online. And yet, I strategically laid the foundation of my business during that time.
AND NOW my business is still thriving 10+ years later. Why? Because I took control and developed successful strategies and took strategic steps to grow my business.
Now it is YOUR TURN to take control. What will you do? I know you have greatness in you to thrive, despite obstacles. And you know where to find us if you want the roadmap for success on Zazzle – through our courses or coaching from Jen and I.
