To start, we wanted to share why we wanted to start our own online businesses. In 2008, I, Jen, wanted to start her business for several reasons. I wanted to travel and have independence. I also realized that working online would give me the ability to live and work freely as an introvert.
I was able to go to live in Mallorca, Spain and travel the world, all while working online and selling on Zazzle. It was a dream come true.
As for me, Elke, I wanted to start my own business so I pursued many different paths to achieve that goal. I was motivated to be my own boss to be in control of my future and have a better quality of life. The first thing I wanted to do was to avoid commuting to work and traveling for weeks at a time for work, which would allow me to spend more time at home with my kids.
Additionally, I didn’t want to depend on a boss that would dictate how much money I could earn. I realized that selling online could provide me the ability to shatter the earnings ceiling I had always lived by in my 9-5 jobs. When I came across Zazzle, I wasn’t sure if it would work, but I said to myself “Hey, I’m up to trying anything!”
Our efforts paid off in the long-term on Zazzle because we have earned over $1.5 million combined. People would ask us how we achieved our success, which led us to create The Profit by Design Academy®, the coaching program that helps people start and scale their online businesses using The 5 Strategies we used to succeed on Zazzle.
Even though we are all chasing money, money is only the tool to get us what we want in life. It’s about the why – the meaningful reasons that truly motivate us to do the hard things that get us out of our comfort zone of the 9-5 job, like starting an online business.
In this article we showcase several of our clients and their stories about their “why”, the reason that motivated them to start and build an online business on Zazzle to earn the money needed to get what they want.
Our client Lorena built her Zazzle business so that she could stay at home with her kids. She is a true super mom with four kids. Selling on Zazzle has allowed her to simultaneously generate wealth for her family and have time with her children that she’d never get back otherwise.
Besides wanting to provide for her family, she wanted to ensure that they had the money they needed to participate in all those fun and memorable family experiences. Her Zazzle income allows them to do things they wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, like take family vacations.
Christine is another client of ours who has different motivation to create a successful online business. Christine lives in the Philippines and was looking to generate passive income so that she could travel while still making money. It’s always been a dream of hers to travel to the US and study there, which she’s now pursuing.
As she travels, she has a flow of income and a business that basically runs on its own. That has allowed her to do things she’s always dreamed of, which is pretty amazing.
Another individual we work with, Susan, is a Zazzle creator so that she can enjoy her retirement to the fullest. She has been working on Zazzle for a while. After we began coaching her, she generated $40k of income within two years. To date, she’s reached $100k of income.
This money acts as her “fun money” in her retirement. She no longer has to live on a fixed income and has more freedom to do the things she wants to in this phase of her life.
Our client Gry resides in Norway and English is her second language. She has come into The Profit by Design Academy® and really embraced everything, which has been amazing. She created her Zazzle business and now really enjoys the pride of knowing that she’s built something for herself.
She celebrates her Zazzle earnings milestones with pink champagne. As a mom who takes care of her kids as her husband works on shipping vessels, this has been a huge accomplishment for her that she thoroughly enjoys.
Brandon is building wealth so that he can ensure an early retirement. He takes his Zazzle earnings and uses them to invest in real estate, growing his wealth bit by bit.
Something to note about Brandon is that he’s not your average creative person. He’s learned our process and taken those learnings and applied them to Zazzle to really make the business model work for him. That has led him to $370k in lifetime earnings thus far, and it’s ticking upwards day after day!
Finally, our client Christy lost her day job but didn’t have to fret thanks to her safety net income that her online business using Zazzle has provided. In fact, she decided not to find another job and is continuing to grow her monthly earnings from her Zazzle store.
