It is not just used to share pictures with your friends anymore. It is a strong promotional platform that brands are using to reach and generate customers. There are so many cool new things that are being used on Instagram to promote products and we wanted to share these tips with you so that you can start promoting your Zazzle products today!

Instagram Tips to Promote Your Zazzle Products

While at Social Media Marketing World 2018 we learned so many interesting things about Instagram and how you can engage your followers to create brand and product awareness. Instagram is more than just a social tool. It is a place where you can connect with your audience and create a relationship that will strengthen your brand.

This is extremely useful to us Zazzle designers as we want to connect with our customers and showcase our products. Instagram is especially beneficial to us due to the ‘stories’ function. You can show your followers exactly what you are up to at a specific moment like when you are painting or taking photographs or designing your next graphic design. Viewers can feel as if they are a part of your daily activities. This creates a high level of engagement and connection between you and your followers.

“Getting to know the person behind the brand” is a social media trend that is becoming a powerful way to create brand recognition, and customer loyalty and ultimately lead to product purchases.

You can use Instagram to let your Zazzle customers “get to know the person behind the brand”. You are also able to use your content to create “calls to action” and entice your customers to visit your website or check out your Zazzle store.

Instagram Tips: Use Styled Photography to Promote Your Zazzle Products

Styled photography on Instagram is becoming more popular than ever.

Before you would just take a picture on your phone and upload it. Now users are starting to professionally edit their photos with filters and even edit them in graphics programs so that they have more design elements to them. Styled photography is a great way to attract customers’ attention on Instagram as they quickly scroll through their Instagram feed.

As you know, Instagram is a ‘thumb-scrolling’ social media platform. You scroll quite fast through the content until you find something that is ‘thumb-stopping’ and catches your eye. So, you need to post photos and videos that are aesthetically pleasing and “thumb-stopping”!

You want your followers to stop on your photos and double tap to “like” and even take the time to comment. To learn more about how you can create styled photography for your Zazzle products, please refer to the article we published here. In this article, we also have a step-by-step how-to tutorial on “how to create product mock-ups or staged photos of your Zazzle products”.

Instagram Tips: Use Hashtags in Your Instagram Photos

On Instagram, you need to add hashtags (with keywords) to your photos so that your content is searchable. In the description of your photo post, add hashtags that reflect your content or that your avatar would look for. Be specific and describe your photo.

For example, if you use a photo of a monogram chevron wedding invitation, use each of these descriptive words as a hashtag. #wedding #monogramwedding #weddinginvitation #chevronwedding

In addition, make sure to always add the #zazzlemade hashtag to your photos that contain your Zazzle products. Zazzle searches Instagram using this hashtag and then chooses certain posts, that showcase Zazzle products, to feature on the Zazzle website.

Instagram Tips: Use Live or Recorded Videos on Instagram to Promote Your Brand

Video, live or recorded, is one of the top social media trends this year. People are connecting with their audiences more than ever by using video.

There are many things you can do to engage your followers with video. You can do a Q&A session about your Zazzle brand or products. Unwrapping a Zazzle product is a fun idea and shows your followers how they would receive their order after purchasing. Time-lapse videos of how you create a design are also neat and show your followers your artistic abilities. You can also just talk about yourself and why you love designing on Zazzle. There are so many live video possibilities!

Instagram Tips: Engage Your Followers with Instagram Stories

Use Instagram Stories to create a timely “Call to Action”. Even though most Instagram Stories will disappear after a short time, they are shown on the top of a follower’s feed.

It is another way to get their attention and engage with your followers. Use it to tell them about a special promo on Zazzle. Show them a new product you just posted for sale. Post something about what you are currently doing. Put in a quote about life or a cool thing you are doing related to your public brand.

You can create a still image, a gif, or a video and add text and graphics. The sky is the limit with Instagram’s editing tool.

Instagram Tips: Tag People and Use Hashtags in Your Instagram Posts

Don’t let all the hard work you put into making the graphic for your post go to waste. Make sure you spread the word….tag people in your post and use lots of hashtags.

To determine what hashtags to use look at the hashtags of popular posts from people who are also in your niche. Also, use the Instagram search engine under “explore”. Just start typing in a keyword and see what auto populates. It shows you how many posts use the particular hashtag.

And don’t forget to tag people! Tag your friends, other brands or other accounts to create engagement. Once you have tagged someone, they will get a notification. This way your photo or story gets shared even more!

These are 2 great ways to figure out what keywords to use as hashtags. We recommend about 10 hashtags as a minimum.

Try to think of creative ways that you can use one or 2 hashtags that are less commonly used but still relevant so that your post has a better chance of being found. Some hashtags are overused and your post will not be as visible in a populated feed. So always try to have a few hashtag keywords that provide you with more exposure even if it is a less popular hashtag. You will end up with a better chance of attracting new followers.
