How to Sell on Zazzle – A Zazzle Success Story Part 2

In June 2017, Brandon started a brand new Zazzle store. He used The 5 Step Profit Plan VIP Mentoring Program™ to set it up properly and fill it with products that would sell on Zazzle. He had decided to start fresh, because his old Zazzle store had made him $2,500 in 5 years total. That’s only $500 per year. He wanted to earn more.

By October, 2017, he had already made more than he usually makes in a year ($500)!

In November 2017, Brandon more than doubled his total income ($1,290)!

At the end of December 2017, 6 months after starting his new Zazzle store, Brandon’s total earnings were $2,141.26.

Instead of taking 5 years, NOW IT ONLY TOOK 6 MONTHS to earn the SAME amount of money!

January 2018 – Brandon Took a Break

Brandon’s January Earnings were $585.94. He saw a big drop after the holiday season!

I took a break for the first few weeks in January of 2018. I dedicated many nights and weekends to my Zazzle store leading up to the holidays and needed to recharge.

When I started again in late January, I continued to create matching items, different color items and most importantly seasonal and evergreen items using this one design that was selling well.

I am so glad that I noticed that this one design sold well during the holidays. This is because I use Step #4 in The 5 Step Profit Plan VIP Mentoring Program™ to analyze my results and take action. After making the matching products, these also started to sell and keep selling well for me even 6 months later.

February 2018 – It Was Tough to Make More Zazzle Best Sellers

Brandon’s February Earnings were $724.03. His earnings went up again!

I was excited by my quick success during November and December 2017, so I continued to work on other researched designs to see if I could make this happen again. I made lots of designs and added many products to my store.

But I found it tough, really tough! I was working and doing what I thought was right, but my monthly sales were down from November and December.

It was important to keep reviewing my data (Step #4) to discover what was not working. I found that I was targeting the right niches, and getting product views but not sales.

After reviewing what may be causing this lack of sales, I realized that I had gotten lazy. I was not improving my design skills. I was just copying and pasting a single design on many different products.

There was no variety in the products I was posting for sale.

I also found myself not creating the quality products that I used to make, which led to these early successes in 2017.

March 2018 – Brandon Fixed Bad Product Designs

Brandon’s March Earnings were $840.37. Getting closer to a 1k month again.

Elke’s mentoring and store review in March was crucial to my progress. It was clear that now was the time for me to improve my design skills. I targeted products and designs that I had previously skipped over because I felt they took too long to design.

Elke found examples in my store of times that I rushed product design. I had created lots of templates that just weren’t working how I thought I had designed them. Some of the early items were just plain bad.

I realized I had stopped paying attention to what Elke taught in her program. To fix the mistakes, I took the time to create the template products properly.

Also, designs I thought looked great when I originally made them, clearly did not follow what I had learned in The 5 Step Profit Plan VIP Mentoring Program™. I also fixed these designs and posted new products.

March was definitely my month to clean up my Zazzle store and look for new possibilities.

April 2018 – The Fixed Product Designs Sold

Brandon’s April Earnings were $1,112.45. His first 1k month in 2018!

Due to all the cleanup done in March, I started to see sales on the new products. The learning for me is that I had done the research to know what is popular but I posted a poor design. Once I posted a good design in the popular niche that I found, that is when I started making sales on Zazzle.

I also kept putting into place the suggestions Elke gave me when she reviewed my store and products. She helped me see that there are many components to Step #2 (Production) and I had not taken advantage of all of them.

But with each week of implementing changes, I saw improvements in my sales. I also made over $1,000 in April. I was thrilled to see how the improvements I made were generating more sales.

May 2018 – Brandon’s Product Was Featured on the  Zazzle Homepage

Brandon’s May Earnings were $1,050.54. His second 1k month in 2018!

May was another big milestone month for me with my second $1,000+ earnings month in 2018..

During the month of May, one of my products was selected for the Zazzle homepage banner. The design was simple and did not use any purchased fonts, graphics, or photos, but it did use colors I had done my research on and knew it was trending.

It made me proud because this showed that my design skills could now be featured with the best on the Zazzle homepage. Once again, I found myself more excited about being able to effectively design than worrying about how much money I was going to make from being featured.

June 2018 – Brandon Is Happy With His First Year Results

Brandon’s June Earnings were $952.90. Just shy of another 1k month!

Running Total – Brandon’s New Zazzle Store Earnings in 12 Months = $7,407.49 + $232.16 (from the first 2 weeks of July) = $7,639.65

Brandon Wrote:

Originally, I just wanted to prove that I could reimburse myself for the course but I earned 7x more than what the course cost!

Also, my original earnings goal that I set for myself last year when I first started was $1,000.

Then I increased it to $5,000 after I reached my first goal.

I keep increasing my earnings goal every time I reach it.  It really works best when you follow what Elke suggests.

“Have smaller manageable goals and then keep adjusting as you achieve your results.”

As of this writing, my New Zazzle Store has earned more than $7,500 in one year.

I am going to continue the store with a goal to reach $25,000 by July 2019. This seems impossible right now, but so was my goal of $1,000 that I set when I first started in July 2017.

Brandon’s Monthly Royalty Earnings for 1 Year

As Brandon built up his Zazzle store, starting in July 2017, his earnings per month slowly increased. Then around Christmas time, they spiked to around $800 per month.

In January 2018, his earnings went down drastically because he had not yet put products in his store that would typically sell in January and February.

After implementing Elke’s mentoring suggestions, Brandon’s sales were back up in March and spiked in April and May. June was also a good month for rounding out the year.

In 5 out of the 12 months, Brandon earned more than $800 in a month with 2 more months being above $700. This is a HUGE improvement over Brandon’s old Zazzle store which earned no more than $500 in a WHOLE YEAR.

Brandon’s Total Royalty Earnings in His First Year

This graph tracks the total amount earned by Brandon’s Zazzle store at the end of each month since he started in July 2017. You can see that the line on the graph goes up and curves up as time goes by.

That means that Brandon’s income went up every month and in most months it increased by at least the same or more than the previous month.
