How To Organize Zazzle Store Categories To Make Money On Zazzle

Have you felt overwhelmed and don’t know how to organize your Zazzle store products into categories?

Are you happy just to use collections on your store home page to let customers find products in your store?

Do you get frustrated because you do not know how to make those professional-looking store category icon photos you see on successful Zazzle store owners? (more on that later in the video).

If you answered yes, then keep reading this article and make sure you watch our training video for all the details.

Why are store categories so important?

When customers land on your Zazzle store home page you have 3 seconds to make a good first impression.

Customers need to see a professional “look” at your store, so they can trust you.

They should be intrigued to look around further, so you need to offer a visually pleasing storefront.

Most importantly, they need to be able to find what they came to your store for.

That way, they will purchase and then you make money on Zazzle.

One of the key components to achieving these goals is to use your Zazzle store categories effectively.

Even if you have many products, you can find suitable ways to organize them for your customers to find items AND for you to manage your product inventory.

A fun and informative training video on how to organize Zazzle store categories

Using your store categories effectively can have a significant impact on your Zazzle sales. The best way to give you this information is by using a video.

However, a video on store categories could be on the boring side…but NOT our video!

In this video, Jen and I have combined one of our “Mallorcan Mini Series” on Elke TV on YouTube and a training video to not only give you a real-life example of why store categories are important, but also a 20-minute screen share lesson. You will learn different ways to use categories and set them up to ensure maximum sales when your customers visit your Zazzle store.

So KEEP WATCHING all the way to the end.

What have you learned from this article and video?

  • You need to use your store categories effectively for maximum sales opportunities
  • If you have too many categories showing, customers will be frustrated and leave your store rather than buy
  • Use your categories to help funnel customers to the products they are looking for
  • Use subcategories to help you manage your product inventory
  • Reuse your Zazzle collection thumbnails to save you time and effort
  • How to create the staged product thumbnails will be in the next blog post and video. Stay tuned!

As crazy as this may sound, I have never used the categories. I’m learning so much. Thank you. I’ll get on that as soon as possible ????

This was really great but I am missing something. Having difficulty getting Categories to show up on my storefront. How do I do that?

    • Robert Wahl

Well, I’ll have to watch this about 50 times… I’m at a lose as to how to “do” the category thing when all I have is a list of products, guess I’ll have to somehow wrangle them into store categories… will be like herding rabbits!

      Great video as always, Elke…

Thank you so much for this video. I have categories set up but was not sure I was doing it right and this has made it really clear. So helpful, Thank you!!

Thank you for this. Alas I’m doing it nearly all wrong at the moment, d’oh! I have a lot more product types in my shop so I’ll have to mull over how I might simplify them into a few main categories. Or decide which ones I want to highlight.

When you have categories that are invisible but that contain products, do those products appear in your store? Perhaps at the next level of hierarchy up?

Hi,I’m not sure I’m sending this to the right place so, I will try and keep it short. I signed up up for the beginners and advanced courses. The problem I have is, because of work I was never able to be in on the video chats on Facebook and I don’t no much about Facebook so I didn’t know how to get them or if I even still can. Also, I’ve tried to sign up for the Webinar class and none of the links I get work. Your classes are wonderful and I’ve learned a lot and still learning. I’m redoing my whole store with new products and designs. Thank you so much for all your great teaching and advice. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Jim
