You have to be in the right mindset and understand that 5K isn’t that much harder than earning $100 on Zazzle. It’s about knowing the right steps to take and having the right products set up in your Zazzle store.
When we both started on Zazzle, we assumed it was hard to earn a certain amount of money. For us, earning 5K felt unachievable. It wasn’t until we found out we had to be in the right mindset and understand that 5K isn’t that much harder than earning $100 on Zazzle. This is just about knowing the right steps to take and having the right products in your Zazzle store. It’s also important to understand how your store is working for you.
When we share our Zazzle earnings and those of our students, it’s not to brag, it’s to help you understand that if we can do it, it could be possible for you too if you do the work.
It comes down to mindset. When you have a goal, for example achieving 5K in a month, and you hear from others that it’s possible, then you have a mindset shift. You will realize your goal is only going to be achieved when you take the actions necessary to make them a reality. So many people dream about achieving a goal, but then don’t take the steps required to actually make it happen.
Earning 5K may be achievable for others but what does that mean exactly for you? How are you going to get there? Start by breaking your goal down into smaller pieces. For example, break the 5K a month into what you would need to earn daily. Divide $5,000 by 30 days and you get $167 per day. You would have to make $167 every day of the month to achieve 5K a month.
Start by finding out what you make per day from your Zazzle earnings. Look at your daily earnings. What are they? If you don’t make daily sales, maybe you average out to the amount in a week which you need to reach your goal. If you do not, your first step is to find out what the difference is between your actual result and your goal. This will give you the dollar amount that you must aim for. This is not to discourage you, it is meant to get you to face the reality that there is work to do.
When we first started we had lofty goals, but only dreamt and hoped it would happen. It was not until we took the right actions and had the tools to do the things that would result in our dream goals, that our dream goals became a reality.
You have to be open-minded and receptive to the possibilities of what can happen.
It’s easy to let doubt or let negative talk stop you from believing that you can achieve a 5K month. We experienced this when we first started on Zazzle. But then we shifted our way of thinking to “You’ll never know until you try”. There are so many products you can sell on Zazzle, so many niches you can sell in. The opportunities are endless. Be open to the possibilities.
When we first started we had a set idea of what we thought would work on Zazzle for us to make money. But after being open to new opportunities, we made so much more money.
Check in with yourself. Are you receptive to new possibilities? Whenever you catch yourself experiencing limiting beliefs, ask yourself if these limiting beliefs are true, or is it just something you are allowing to keep you in a comfort zone? The great part with Zazzle is that there’s a low amount of risk involved in trying new things. It’s only your time that you will lose if the products you make don’t sell. But what if they do?
When you assess what’s in your Zazzle store and take into account how much you need to sell to earn 5K a month, then you can analyze what needs to be improved or changed. Assess which products sell. For example, if you have a store only selling keychains, you will have to sell many to reach 5K because each only pays out a few cents royalty. Whereas a store with a variety of low, medium, and high priced items and different types of products will provide you with more opportunity to generate income.
Zazzle offers so many amazing high quality, high priced items that people don’t usually think about selling. As sellers, we initially think buyers won’t purchase these because they’re too expensive. However, people do buy these items. If you don’t have them available in your store, how will you ever make these sales?
Optimize the About section on your Zazzle homepage. Include that you accept customization requests if you wish.
How can you earn 5K in a month without being overwhelmed? Think about only needing to sell 20 products rather than thousands to reach 5K a month. We like the 80/20 rule. Aim for 80% of your income to come from 20% of your products. What if 20 products out of every 100 are money makers? Let’s say you have 20 products selling well. That means each one of those products only needs to generate $250 a month in royalties, that’s about $8 per day. This provides you with a whole new perspective. Instead of a higher volume of products, you could have 20 products that generate your daily goal. Most Zazzle products pay out between $2-10 in royalty if you set your default royalty at 10%. If you have a variety of medium and high-priced products, sometimes you only have to sell each of your 20 products once a day to reach your goal. Let’s do the math: $8 x 20 products = $160 a day.
Once you look at it this way, you realize your focus has shifted from an overwhelm of selling many products to establishing 20 core products that could potentially create 80% of the revenue that you want for the month ($5K). This comes back full circle to understanding what you offer in your Zazzle store right now. You have to determine whether those products are actually working for you the way you need them to be working.
To get to your first 5K a month on Zazzle could be easier than you currently think. This goal is possible but it does take work on your part to lay the foundation to make it happen. You have to understand what’s currently happening in your Zazzle store and assess what products currently work for you. Secondly, you must build out your product inventory so that 20 of your products will give you 80% of your revenue. This is part of our work smarter, not harder strategy which has helped us do well on Zazzle.
