Did you know that you can add a Zazzle promo code to your referral link when promoting a Zazzle product or a special Zazzle sales promotion? When the customer clicks on the link, the promo code will automatically be applied to the cart for that customer. This helps make it easier for the customer to shop on Zazzle and complete the cart checkout process. Plus you can use the promo code discount as an incentive on your blog, email, and social media posts for readers to click through to Zazzle to start buying. Keep reading to learn how to add a Zazzle promo code to your referral link and where to find the Zazzle promo codes to get started.

If you are a Zazzle designer, you have seen those emails you get telling you about Zazzle’s upcoming deals and specials. Have you ever wondered how you should use this information most effectively? You can use the promo codes in your promotional campaigns to increase your referral income. In this article, I will show you a cool feature to help you take advantage of these sales and give you a better chance of earning 15% in referral commission through the Zazzle Associate Program (Zazzle’s affiliate program).

You can promote these sales and promo codes via email, blog posts, Tweets, Facebook posts, and more.

To make it easy for your customer to apply the promo code, add it directly to your referral link and let Zazzle’s coding in the backend add the promo code right to the customer’s cart. This makes it super simple when customers are paying and increases the chance of you making the referral commission.

Find Your Referral Product Link

In this example, I am going to use this wedding invitation as the product I want to promote.  Here’s how you would find your referral link.

Click on the product you want to promote to open and view it on the product page. Then click on the little chain link below the product image and a popup window will show your link options. You can see in the image below, what it looks like for me with my unique Zazzle associate code

You must be logged into your Zazzle account for this to work. (Find your own referral ID here.)

How to find your Zazzle referral link (or affiliate link) for a Zazzle product. Copy the code in the top left box labeled “LINK”.

Copy the code in the top left box labeled “LINK” (see image above) and paste it somewhere, like on your clipboard, so that you can add additional code to it before you use the completed link to add it to the image you will use to promote the product.

Your image that you use for promotion can be a screenshot of the product from Zazzle or a styled image you created in Photoshop. You can check out this other article (here) that teaches you how to use styled photography to promote your Zazzle products.

Below is the code I need to promote the specific invitation with my associate ID attached, but now I still have to add the promo code.

Marketing Strategies for Using Zazzle Promo Codes

Everyone loves a deal. So using the Zazzle promo codes as a way to draw more customers from your blog, email or social media promotion to Zazzle is an effective marketing strategy as an affiliate. When you add a promo code to your product links, you can get creative with how you get your customers to take action.

Here are some examples of what you could say in your text:

  • Buy now and get x% off!
  • Instantly receive x% off!
  • Last day to save x% storewide!

Just remember that these promo codes are time-sensitive. So you should only add your promo code in your referral link while the sale is on and make it clear to your customers when the promotion ends.

Where Can You Find The Current Zazzle Promo Codes?

There are 2 places you can find the Zazzle promo codes that are active:

  1. the Zazzle Associate emails you receive as a Zazzle associate

By using a general URL that leads the customer to either the Zazzle home page or one of their many niche-specific landing pages, you can attract more customers. A more generalized option will appeal to and target a larger number of customers with your marketing campaign. This will help increase your referrals and ultimately your Zazzle earnings.

What happens once the sale is over? Does the customer get an error? Thanks in advance.

    • Elke Clarke

Valerie, The promo code will no longer be added to the shopping cart. Your customer will still be taken to the link address. But it is up to you to educate the customer on the timing and also not to promote with the promo code in the link after the sale is over.

Great post. So the buyer get’s a discount on a product you’re selling/promoting as a designer, but who’s pocket does the promo discount come out of? Zazzle’s or the artist or maybe the better question is, what is the impact when a buyer uses a promo code on the artist and their bottom-line?

    • Elke Clarke

Hi Rodney. Thanks for your questions. It comes out of both Zazzle and the artist’s pocket. It’s best got read the Zazzle User agreement to fully understand the math. The bottom line for the artist is a sale when there may not have been a sale if there was no promo.
