This strategy benefits you, the creative. This is for creatives who are thinking of starting on Zazzle and want to start out in the best way possible. The end goal is to create products that work for you, but if you end up creating lots of products that bring no return, you end up working harder and not smarter. This can cause a lot of frustration when you’re putting in a lot of hours and not getting the sales.
This strategy also benefits Zazzle designers who are struggling to earn consistent $5K months.
The 5 Ultimate Zazzle Strategies we’re sharing with you in this series are the secret to Zazzle success and need to be implemented into your Zazzle business in order to earn money by working smarter, not harder.
If you want to expand your Zazzle business and create more wealth, implementing this strategy is a must. Of course, we all want to make more sales. If you don’t have the right product for sale in the Zazzle marketplace, you won’t make sales. So this creation strategy is vital.
Now, what are some of the benefits from this Ultimate Zazzle strategy? Firstly, when your Zazzle products look professional and the design is desirable to the customer, it’ll ultimately aid the customer experience and help them feel more comfortable to make a purchase with you. If you tuned into the first episode we did for Strategy #1: Establish, we talked about the know, like, and trust factor which is required to create that customer relationship which makes the sale easier.
This branding is carried through into your design style that you will become recognized for. This becomes really powerful because customers will search for you specifically to find your branded style. This helps you in the long run when you are competing on the Zazzle marketplace because your products will stand out, therefore, you will make more sales!
There are a few different things that you need to do to incorporate Strategy #2: Create into your Zazzle business. The first being, define your customer avatar. Get clear on who it is you’re serving and creating the products for. It’s better to be focused on a kind of customer rather than selling to anybody. It’s more difficult to successfully make sales if you’re not clear on your target audience.
The next thing to do is research what designs your customer avatar wants. This includes things like colors, design assets, design themes, etc. By narrowing this down, you are increasing your possibilities for a sale.
Also make sure you’re using the Zazzle design tool properly to make it easier for the customer to buy. This means utilizing correct templates. If you aren’t familiar with what this is, it’s a feature that allows your customer to personalize your design templates. This is an important part of completing the sale. If your template is not easy to use or not mobile-friendly, your customer will likely shop elsewhere.
Our next action step for you to implement this strategy into your Zazzle business is to decide whether you will be buying graphics or using your own. Sometimes, we purchase certain graphics to help make our lives easier and target certain customers in our niche who demand those kinds of graphics. However, there are pros and cons to doing that. If you do decide to purchase, you have to remember that anybody else can buy the same graphics and create similar designs, whereas, if you make your own it’s very unique and different.
When it comes to using your art, photos, and surface patterns, make sure it suits the product they will be going onto. Remember to serve your customer. In the first series, we covered skill sets and there’s a skill set here too that’s essential. It’s important to learn how to leverage your own creative content properly. For example, if you have a vertical product like a cellphone case and you have a horizontal photo or piece of art it must still be desirable even though much of the horizontal image won’t fit on the case. When you put the photo on the vertical cell phone case, you shouldn’t expect it to sell, if it’s not showcasing the photograph in a way that is desirable to the customer.
You’ll also want to make sure you are adding assets ONLY to the products that your customers would like the design on. Your assets should be making your product look more appealing and serve a purpose. Oftentimes, we see Zazzle designers put a random square of photograph on a T-shirt, it feels very “slapped on” and unintentional. Remember – if you wouldn’t buy it, then customers most likely won’t buy it either.
The last component for you to implement for this strategy is to become good at titles and tags in order to promote effectively. We always emphasize to our clients the importance of titles and tags, not only does it help your products be found on the Zazzle marketplace, but it also helps with SEO on external platforms such as Google. This requires research as it will depend upon whatever it is you are selling as top what words to use but the simplest starting point is searching whatever product and niche / use you’re thinking to sell and see what kind of keywords or phrases these products use. We recommend you listen to the episode where we interviewed Audrey Jeanne Roberts because we dive into the importance of titles and tags to make more sales on Zazzle.
We hope you can see how important Strategy #2: Create is, without this strategy there are no sales. You have to first create the product that’s going to bring in the income, and we hope that these action steps we shared in this episode help you do just that!
