How to Brand Your Business on Zazzle and Why It is Important

Your store brand is so important because when a customer comes to your store they instantly decide whether they want to buy from you or keep searching. The goal is to create a space where customers feel like they belong and, of course, purchase from you. This is done with branding.

How to Brand Your Business on Zazzle: Optimize the banner on your Zazzle homepage and ensure the banner showcases exactly what your ideal customer is there to buy.

The first tip to help you incorporate your brand into your Zazzle store homepage is to optimize the banner. This banner is found at the top of your Zazzle homepage, it is just like a Facebook banner where you can add an image. Use the banner to showcase your products so that customers can see what is available in your Zazzle store.

As far as tips on the banner and how you want to use it effectively, avoid showcasing images that are not proportioned properly. For example, if you add a photo of a mug and a backpack side by side and they are not sized relative to their actual product proportions then these products will not appear as professional as they could be. If you want to display different-sized items, showcase them in the appropriate size ratio. If the customer sees products next to each other that aren’t sized correctly, this could make the customer uneasy.

You want to use the banner to showcase the products your customer will make the  customer interested in scrolling further down to check out the rest of your Zazzle store. Make sure your banner mirrors what your customer will see in terms of collections and categories offered. It’s about the customer journey and you want to make your banner represent how your store is set up. Match what the customer came to purchase, if the customer expects one type of product but you don’t showcase that in your banner, there will be a disconnect and they will most likely look elsewhere.

How to Brand Your Business on Zazzle: Your logo should reflect the feel and look of your store.

Your Zazzle store logo is the next key component to create your branding message. The logo must clearly reflect your Zazzle store name and brand style. You want the size, color and text to be cohesive with the overall look and feel of your store. If you have a store that’s minimalistic in terms of design and offers, then you will have a minimalistic logo, preferably black or white. Your logo will be quite different if you have a vintage store that provides designs that are victorian or art deco. Your font choice and colors in your logo should reflect the style of designs that are on the products you offer for sale in your Zazzle store. 

Your logo is the second touchpoint you have with the customer, after the banner. These help your customer feel comfortable, make them know they’re in the right place to find what they need. Other places on your Zazzle store homepage where you can influence your brand, include the store name and a tagline written out on the right-hand side of the banner. This particular area is where you can be consistent with your brand by using the same wording and messaging. Take the time to craft a catchy and concise tagline that explains to the customer what they can expect from your store.

How to Brand Your Business on Zazzle: Optimize the About section on your Zazzle homepage. Include that you accept customization requests if you wish.

The About section is a text box underneath the store banner where you can provide more detail about who you are as a Zazzle designer, what you offer in the store. This is also a great opportunity to add a contact email. We recommend you create an email address that isn’t associated with your own personal account. Create a separate email with your store name like “minimaldesigns@gmail.com” Then add a phrase like “Contact me for any customized design work.” The reason we recommend you do this, especially in the About section, is that most customers come to Zazzle to find customized products. If they like a certain design in your store but want it altered or want the design on a different product, you are clearly communicating with them that you can help.

Keep your description short and precise. Such as, “Welcome to (your store name), this is the place you will find (repeat tag line)”, add that you do custom orders (if you want) and add in your   email address. This text should take up only the first 2-3 lines in the About section so people don’t have to click on “see more” to get your contact and anything about you that is crucial for them to know. If the About section text is too long, customers have to click on the “see more” option, which takes them away from your store homepage. You want to avoid that because then the customer will not see your categories and products you have showcased on your store homepage.
