The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 has been completely changed for the better compared to the Zazzle Promoter Program 1.0, which was cancelled in September 2019. The changes that Zazzle made to the 2.0 version of the program are ALL BENEFICIAL to you and me as Zazzle Designers and Zazzle Affiliates.
Since I enrolled in The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 version, I receive more referrals and much bigger payouts than ever.
I encourage you to enroll in The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 too. Even though it is by invitation only, you can request to enroll by clicking this link. In this article, I describe the benefits and why Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 is beneficial for you.
This information was originally posted in 2020 and has been updated as of November 3, 2023.
Who is a Good Candidate for The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0?
You are a good candidate for the Promoter Program 2.0 if you:
- Have a blog, website or social media site where you share your own products.
- Earn referrals on your own products.
- Have an established customer (client) base who you market your products to.
- Have an interest in learning about marketing and growing your brand.
If one or more of the points above describes you, then this program may be the key for you to earn more and grow your store.
Benefits of the Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0
Zazzle’s reasoning behind The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 is to reward Zazzle store owners for their efforts in promoting externally on social media, website, and blogs. However, based on the current base prices for products on Zazzle, it’s difficult to be competitive if your royalty is more than 15%. So raising the prices of your products to recoup the cost of external promotion does not make sense.
But now with The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0, it makes more sense to be more proactive and invest time and money into promotion.
With The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0, you will receive 35% referral fee in additional to whatever royalty % that you set for your Zazzle products.
A second benefit is that if you do custom orders, you can also receive a higher payout because you will receive the 35% referral, plus the % royalty that you set.
The third benefit is one that has become apparent as I gain experience with the program. It has to do with receiving credit more consistently for the traffic I bring to Zazzle. See below for more details.
Disadvantages of the Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0
The pros sound lucrative and with Version 2.0 most of the cons from The Zazzle Promoter Program 1.0 have been eliminated, which is great.
The biggest disadvantage of The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 is still that most of the millions of Zazzle store owners are better designers than promoters.
But all is not lost. Jen, a Gold Zazzle ProDesigner, and I, Elke, a Diamond Zazzle ProDesigner, help Zazzle Designers around the world become amazing at promotion through our courses and coaching:

The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 Rewards Promotion More Consistently
I believe The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 is less “leaky” with it’s attribution of who brought in the sale and paying out a referral to us as Zazzle affiliates .
Let me explain.
I have used the The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 for several months now to test it out. With the old Zazzle referral process (I did not sign up for The Zazzle Promoter Program 1.0), I would receive maybe 1 to 2 referrals a month, if I was lucky and if they did not go pink (super frustrating).
With The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 and almost no extra effort on my part except what I had already done in the past (ie. not even changing my old affiliate links or promoting more since joining), I am receiving 35% payouts on referrals, weekly and sometimes multiple a day on my own products!!!
I am still receiving payouts
The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 Explained
If you are a member of The Promoter Program 2.0:
- The participation will be set at the member level, rather than the store level. This means that all of your stores and the products for sale in the stores will be eligible to earn the higher royalty for sales that you drive yourself.
- Your products from all your stores will be visible and searchable in the Zazzle Marketplace.
- All your products will be eligible for on-site coupons and promotions.
- You and your products will be eligible for Zazzle features, including blog posts, Editor’s picks, etc.
- There will be no changes to your stores and product pages. They will still have the same features / widgets.
- Your stores and products will still be indexed by external search engines
- You can update your existing Associate Program links on YOUR OWN PRODUCTS (that currently have the Associate ID or RF number) to Promoter Links (ie delete the Associate ID or “RF=” number and “TC=” tracking code in the link) and then earn the higher 35% Promoter referral rate instead of 15%
- Your Promoter Program earnings will reported in the Earnings section of your Zazzle account, under “Referral History”.
Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 Earnings Details
Let’s dive into the details so that you can make your decision.
For The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 Details as of September 2019 – Click Here: Chart Source = Zazzle
This chart above, clearly explains how The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 pays you as the Zazzle affiliate if you are in the program, depending on whether you have your affiliate ID at the end of your link or not.
When you are in The Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0 and you:
- DON’T have your referral ID code attached to any link to Zazzle that brings in a customer and they buy your OWN product, then you earn 35% referral.
- DO have your referral ID code attached to any link to Zazzle that brings in a customer and they buy your OWN product, then you earn 15% referral
- DON’T have your referral ID code attached to any link to Zazzle that brings in a customer and they buy another designers product, then you earn 0% referral.
- DO have your referral ID code attached (and any “TC=” tracking Code) to any link to Zazzle that brings in a customer and they buy another designers product, then you earn 15% referral.
Can I Join Even if I Was Not Invited into the Zazzle Promoter Program 2.0?
YES! After the negative experiences Zazzle designers had with version 1.0, many were reluctant to sign up for version 2.0. But, the changes Zazzle made make it worthwhile now.
Since the invitation only campaign in September 2019, Zazzle has opened the doors to allow Zazzle designers who are interested to apply.
Even though it is still by invitation only, it’s easy to fill out the form to request an invitation to join (click here to get all the details).
You can also email Zazzle at Designer.Promoter @ Zazzle.com and they can answer your questions and will send you an application.
If you are an API partner click here for specific details and terms for API partners.
How do the “Zazzle Promoter Links” work?
If you are NOT in the Promoter Program 2.0 you earn 15% if your URL links (structured like the “Non-Promoter Links” – see below) bring in a customer and they buy ANY product from Zazzle.
When you are part of the Promoter Program 2.0 you earn 35% if your URL links (structured like the “Promoter Links” below) bring in a customer and they buy YOUR products FROM ANY OF YOUR ZAZZLE STORES. If the customer buys a product from a different designer, you earn 0% referral income.
If you are part of The Promoter Program 2.0 you earn 15% if your URL links (structured like the “Non-Promoter Links” – see below) bring in a customer and they buy either your products or any other product on Zazzle. This means you don’t have to go back and change every link you ever posted while promoting, because you can still earn 15%.
It’s a win win either way.
Promoter Link Structure for a Zazzle Product Link:
A “Promoter Link” does not have any other parameters in it like your associate ID (RF code) or tracking code (TC code).
FOR PRODUCTS, the “Promoter Link” only has the Product Title and the Zazzle product ID.
Examples of what the links look like are shown below:

Non-Promoter Product Link Examples
Your Associate ID (?rf=Number) is attached to the end of the URL. You can also have your tracking code (?tc=yourcode) attached as well (see second example).

So, if I am accepted into the new program, the only thing I would do differently is that when I am promoting my own products I would use the “promoter link” and if I am promoting another designer’s product I would use the same referral link I was using before?
Hello Ladies,
I’ve always been an avid promoter but seldom get referrals. I joined the Promoter Program 2.0 anyway in early November 2019 since I met two of the points that made me a good candidate.
I hadn’t seen any movement with it until the last day of December where I earned a referral. Sadly, someone found one of my Promoter Program links but purchased someone else’s product.
That was the realization of what may occur. I’m going to stick with it to see how it works out over this year.
Wishing everyone luck if they join.
Regards,
Patricia AZ Phillips
Hi
I got confused when the chart showed up. Does using this program as a designer mean I will loose any of my current royalty totals. Will I still be making the same amount on sales as I am now no matter what. If I make a referral of my own I am getting 15% extra and 15% on other referrals what exactly will change? I am sorry I don’t understand it. If I am assured that I will get at least what I am getting now it is worth a try. But if there is a chance of loosing money I want to stay on the safe side. I have been trying to work with health insurance all day and am getting easily confused.
Thanks Marisa
If I remember correctly one downside to this pgm Used to be that you could not take part in Zazzle % off sales. Or was that some other program.
Aside from the fact that you lose that 15% on purchase from stores OTHER than your own. Is there any downside at all to this program? It looks like none.
Thanks
G Shulman
So I’m in the Promoter 2.0 program and have question about links I’ve created in Pinterest in the past. I would only receive 15% on these? Should I delete all my old Pinterest links created directly from Zazzle page and post them again so the link will be in the Promoter referral style?
Diana, YES! You are correct. “I am accepted into the new program, the only thing I would do differently is that when I am promoting my own products I would use the “promoter link” and if I am promoting another designer’s product I would use the same referral link I was using before”
Patricia, this does happen but other times it could be your product they purchase. At least you know your promotion is working.
Marisa, you will still receive your royalties. If you are accepted into the new program, when you promote your product and make a sale you will receive 35% referral and when you promote other designers products, you will make 15% BUT ONLY if you create the links properly. When promoting your own products you would use the “promoter link” and if you are promoting another designer’s product you would use the same referral link you used before joining the program.
Hi G Shulman. NOW you can participate in any coupon sales. You MAKE 15% just as before by referring other designers. You make an ADDITIONAL 20% (ie normally 15% + 20% = 35%) when you promote and sell your own products. There is no downside to this 2.0 version of the program, unless you don’t do well promoting. If you need help with that, let me know.
Hi Jeannette
These links with your RF code on them, IF THEY ARE YOUR OWN PRODUCTS, would receive 15% referral. If you want 35%, take off the RF or ID # and any tracking code.
