How to Use Instagram to Promote Your Art-Based Zazzle Products

Katalin was amazed at the views and responses she received on Instagram after using what she learned in The 5 Step Profit Plan VIP Mentoring Program™. She realized that it was possible to sell without selling, and effectively promote her Zazzle products in a creative and engaging way. By following the 4 main points below, Katalin saw success with her Instagram posts. Read on and take the action steps listed after each point below to promote your Zazzle products effectively on Instagram.

Creatively Use Video Posts to Promote Your Artwork on Instagram to Indirectly Promote Your Zazzle Products

From The 5 Step Profit Plan VIP Mentoring Program™, Katalin learned that she needed to tailor her posts to her audience on Instagram. One way to do this with her artwork is to do a time-lapse video of herself painting a painting. A painting that she was going to then use to make Zazzle products for sale.

Katalin’s Instagram post of her time-lapse video got more views than she had ever received for a video based on her artwork! It was a record for her! Her post got 1,570 views because it was engaging, entertaining, and fun. Her followers could see how she painted her balloon painting. It is intimate and personal.

Your Instagram followers want to get to know you and this is a perfect way to help them do that.

YOUR ACTION STEP:
Create exciting videos to showcase the artwork that you are going to use to make Zazzle products. One way is to do a time-lapse video (under 1 minute) of you painting your painting.

Katalin posted a time-lapse video on Instagram of her painting her balloon painting which she later used to make Zazzle products for sale. Her post was viewed 1,570 times, which was a record for her.

Post A Desirable Photo Of Your Zazzle Product On Instagram

It is not enough to just post your basic Zazzle product on Instagram. Instagram is a social media platform filled with pretty photos and that is what Instagram users expect to see. Katalin learned in The 5 Step Profit Plan VIP Mentoring Program™ how to place her Zazzle product, a birthday card that she made with her balloon painting, into a styled photo. This made her balloon card more enticing for her followers because they could see what the card would look like in a realistic environment.

Use a 2 Post Strategy on Instagram for Effective Promotion Without Direct Selling

Katalin first posted her time-lapse video of her painting on Instagram and then she posted her styled photography image with her Zazzle product. This is a strategy she learned in The 5 Step Profit Plan VIP Mentoring Program™. Her followers remembered the time-lapse video and now could understand and relate to where the balloon design came from that was placed on the card she showcased.

By using this 2 Post Strategy, Katalin was able to engage many more viewers on her Instagram post than if she had only posted the styled photography image of her Zazzle product.

YOUR ACTION STEP:

Post an interesting non-Zazzle product post first on Instagram, as the video time-lapse Katalin did. Then post a styled photo of the Zazzle product you made from your initial painting design.

Use the Hashtag #ZazzleMade in Your Instagram Post to Be Promoted By Zazzle

When Katalin posted the styled photography image of her Zazzle product she used the hashtag #ZazzleMade as well as other hashtags. Zazzle searches for new posts on Instagram that have the hashtag #ZazzleMade. If they like the post they will add a photo of the Zazzle product it to their website in their #Zazzle Inspiration section. This section can be found under certain product-type pages. The photos chosen stay on Zazzle’s homepage in these sections for a long time.

This is a fantastic way to receive free promotion on the Zazzle site if Zazzle picks your Instagram post. This is what happened to Katalin’s Instagram post. She posted her card image on January 24, 2018, and it is still on #Zazzle Inspiration, 7 months later.

You can find this specific #Zazzle Inspiration section where Katalin’s photo is promoted on invitation pages. It is underneath the ‘about this product’ section and the review section. Each product type has its own specific #Zazzle Inspiration, and Zazzle will categorize your Instagram photo on their website. If Zazzle chooses your photo, your post will be displayed on the proper page and product type. This gives your product free promotion when someone is on that specific product type page.

We do not know how long Zazzle will keep each photo in their #Zazzle Inspiration section. Katalin’s photo has been there for 7 months.

YOUR ACTION STEP:

Create an Instagram post featuring your Zazzle product using styled photography. When you post, use the hashtag #ZazzleMade among your other hashtags in the caption for the image.

Elke Clarke’s Diamond ProDesigner Zazzle Insider Tip – Visually Align Your Instagram Posts with Zazzle’s Instagram Post Strategy

Zazzle’s new marketing strategy (as of July 2018) is to align its color scheme across all platforms. This includes their Zazzle website, email campaigns, and social media platforms like Instagram.

Please note: If you read Zazzle’s article, in section #3, when referring to ‘tagging’ with the hashtags #ZazzleMade and #Zazzle, it is referring to adding this to your caption or description of the photo.

This is an extremely valuable insider tip that I am giving you. What this means for you is that if you post on Instagram images that align with Zazzle’s posts, in terms of colors, then your image has a better chance of being chosen than another one, which does not follow Zazzle’s color scheme trend on Zazzle’s Instagram feed.

YOUR ACTION STEP:

Create an Instagram post with your Zazzle product that aligns with the current color trend you see on Zazzle’s Instagram posts.

What can you do to improve your chances of being featured by Zazzle on their Instagram page:

  • Create original and unique content.
  • Use high-quality images that are crisp and clear.
  • Shoot on a clean background and use good lighting.
  • Show how your product is a custom product. Feature monograms, names, photos, etc.
  • Showcase different products! Zazzle loves to see variety.

YOUR ACTION STEP:

Follow these guidelines and play around with styling your Zazzle products. Post to Instagram and use the #ZazzleMade hashtag.
