How to Find Your Niche That Will Help You Make Money on Zazzle: Take the time to identify your interests, likes and style.

When you create your Zazzle store, you might ask, “How do I even start to find the profitable niche that I can use to start making money online with Zazzle?” The first thing we tell our students, when they ask us this question, is to look into what their interests are and the activities they enjoy. What kind of daily activities do you do? What do you gravitate towards? Is there a certain type of music, book, or tv show in particular that you really enjoy? These niches are the easiest to create Zazzle products for, because you already have knowledge of the subject.

Think about the hobbies you have, because you can make products for these niches such as yoga, martial arts, weddings, special occasions, sports, politics, etc.  The list goes on and on.

Some people get confused about where to start when choosing a niche, because a niche can be so many different things. It can be a specific hobby, certain areas of interest or a design style. In order for you to shine and give the most of what you have to offer, figure out what things peak your interest and you enjoy doing. When you have determined what these things are, you can pick a niche for your Zazzle store that you will truly love and enjoy creating for. When you choose a niche you absolutely love, you will be able to work and design efficiently and for a longer period of time. Creating a successful business on Zazzle is long term. In order for you to find the perfect niche that will work for you long term, you need to make sure it is in alignment with who you are as a creative.

How to Find Your Niche That Will Help You Make Money on Zazzle: A common mistake made by designers is to choose a niche by following a popular trend because they assume it will sell well.

A lot of Zazzle designers see products on the Zazzle home page or check out what’s currently popular on the Zazzle Marketplace to determine their niche. They make products within that niche because it’s popular, and they assume it will sell. However, more than likely, it’s not truly something they are passionate about. More often than not, Zazzle designers who decide to do this, are not profitable and their business is not sustainable. They are not familiar with this niche and it makes it difficult for them to create products with ease and efficiency. Not to mention create products that will sell well.

Zazzle is a multimillion-dollar company and products are constantly selling that aren’t always featured on the homepage. If you’re a Zazzle designer trying to figure out what’s popular or trending, you can, of course, utilize the Zazzle homepage to determine what to sell. However, if those things do not resonate with you, then don’t put yourself in a position where you try to make products in a niche that you are not familiar with. Yes, these products are popular and trending, but that does not mean they are the only products selling on Zazzle. If you constantly change your production plan to mirror the product style featured on the homepage, this will result in a store that is very disconnected and your brand will not be consistent. If you are constantly changing your niche, it will be very difficult for you to create a sustainable and profitable Zazzle business.

Trends come and go but the essence and niche is completely different. For example, in the wedding niche each year there are different styles and colors are popular. Trends come and go. A Zazzle designer who chooses to design within the wedding niche knows that trends influence the designs they make, but their store direction and overall niche stays the same. They do not steer away from the wedding niche although their product designs reflect the trends within that niche.

You do need to be aware of trending topics, colors and influences within your niche in order to compete within the marketplace on Zazzle. However, if you are under the impression that you will only make money selling certain items on Zazzle, such as wedding invitations, you are mistaken. The wedding niche is very popular on Zazzle, and designers who choose to be within this niche can be very successful. However it is not necessary to sell wedding related products on Zazzle in order to make money.

We have students who are successful within the knitting and crocheting niches. Other students are thriving within the martial arts and comic niches.  We also have students who are selling products related to hunting and fishing, and motivational quotes! There is no right niche to be in. Choose the one that is best suited for you based on your interests. When you are passionate about something, you are more likely to create products that sell well within that niche. You can always expand into another niche in the future, but you want to begin with a niche that you already know.

How to Find Your Niche That Will Help You Make Money on Zazzle: If you want to get into a particular niche on Zazzle that is not your expertise, you have to find a way to acquire those skill sets.

Your skillset is a factor to consider when you are finding your niche. You need to be confident in your ability to deliver a high quality product design. If you want to get into a particular niche on Zazzle, you have to either already have the skills required to create this type of design, or find a way to acquire those skills through courses and training. You have to take into consideration that the quality of design which you can provide to your customer is what will entice them to purchase your product. To determine your niche is the first step. Next, you need to make sure that your products are desirable and you have good design quality.

This also means you have to give yourself grace and understand that if you don’t see sales, maybe your designs aren’t the greatest. You may need to get help. That’s okay! Make sure you’re very honest with yourself and determine whether you can or can’t produce those products. If you can’t, ensure that you get the training necessary.

If you realize you may need to improve your designs and knowledge about what the customer wants, reach out and obtain the skills you need. Our students in The Profit by Design Academy™ receive A LOT of help to create designs. We want to make sure you shine in your niche and deliver what your customer wants. This doesn’t mean, for example, that you have to create completely new artwork or photography. It means you need to learn how to add your design to the Zazzle products to make them desirable for the customer. It all starts when you determine a niche that you can be excited about and also be able to create high quality designs on products that people want to purchase.

Have come across us but you don’t have a Zazzle store? Do you think that you’re not creative or consider yourself to be an artist? Are you under the impression that you cannot make money on Zazzle because you’re not a designer? This is simply not true. You can still make money on Zazzle even if you do not have any previous experience or consider yourself to be a designer. The Zazzle platform provides amazing tools for you to easily create beautiful products within an area you are passionate about. You know what you are visually attracted to. You have most likely spent time browsing Pinterest or blogs to find home decor inspiration, dinner recipes, fashion tips or travel destinations. You know what you’re attracted to because it looks nice and you understand the concept of the design. You just have to start and play around with what you know. Love fashion design? You can use the Zazzle design tool to create beautiful clothing and accessory products. Interested in cooking? Zazzle has an amazing selection of kitchenware and home decor products for you to design on. You do not need any previous experience or expensive editing programs.

As well, you can purchase graphics and a license that you can use commercially on Zazzle. If you aren’t artistic and don’t know how to make graphics, you can do text based designs right in the Zazzle design tool. You can transfer that information to your own designs you create on Zazzle based on the same feel of what you’re attracted to. That can become your own personal creative outlet on Zazzle. Those things will be your sellers.

How to Find Your Niche That Will Help You Make Money on Zazzle: Do your research and utilize Google trends.

Million Dollar Zazzle Business

If you have an idea in regards to what you want to sell on Zazzle, do some background research. We recommend you use Google trends, because if you only go based on what’s trending on Zazzle, that’s streamlined specifically to that platform. We want you to do some research as to what’s selling on a general scale during a certain time of the year. If you want to go into the knitting niche, you should go onto Google trends and look up what kind of things people are interested in when it comes to knitting. There may be a huge amount of people interested in knitting but may not be found on Zazzle, so be sure to do external research and look on a global scale.

When you do this research you want to make sure there’s at least a couple hundred thousand people interested. Ideally you will have approximately a million people that are searching for a topic related to your niche. If it’s in the 10,000 range, unfortunately you’re probably one of the few people interested and you need to expand the niche to include more topics. The key here is to see whether there’s enough population in the world who have searched for information on what you plan to use as your niche. If the answer is yes and the population behind it is in the millions, and it’s an all year long demand, not just seasonal, then you know you hit the jackpot. We don’t want anyone to do work that will be wasted just because there’s nobody interested as a customer.

How to Find Your Niche That Will Help You Make Money on Zazzle: The Key Takeaways

When it comes to finding your niche to make money online with Zazzle, you want to make sure it’s something you have knowledge on, you can deliver high quality designs and have double-checked to make sure there is a demand for your products. For example, if there are people interested, that’s a sign that there is demand. The key is to ask yourself if there are enough people in the world searching for products in the niche you have chosen for your Zazzle store.
