We, Jen and Elke Clarke, have been profiting on Zazzle in the wedding niche for over 14 years now. Predicted Trends for Weddings in 2021

According to The Wedding Report Inc., in 2021 we will see an additional 650k weddings in addition to the yearly average, bringing the total 2021 number of weddings to 2.77 million versus a normal year of about 2.12 million couples getting married. Spending on weddings will be reduced in both budget and guest counts per couple. The 2021 average spending per wedding will be about $21.6k, resulting in a total market of $60 billion spending. That does not mean less profit. Instead it means the same or more opportunities to profit because people are still getting married, just not in the same way. If you are a wedding photographer or caterer or venue provider, yes, there will be most likely less revenue generated with the usual wedding-related expenses. But brides will still need wedding items. That’s where we as Zazzle designers can profit.

Even though the average spend per wedding is predicted to be lower (Source = The Wedding Report Inc.) more weddings are to take place in 2021 to make up for cancelled weddings last year. For you as a Zazzle designer, this shouts “Opportunity” loud and clear. As long as you know what to do to profit from this changing wedding market and know what the new demands are that need to be filled. Keep reading to discover trends that are predicted for 2021 and ways that we suggest you leverage this research to build out your Zazzle wedding products.

  • More elopements will take place

Opportunities for Zazzle Designers Based on Trends for Weddings in 2021

Using the following list (in bold) from Insider.com we make suggestions for each so that you can profit from the emerging trends for weddings in 2021:

  • Smaller # of guests: We suggest to continue to make all the paper products because they are still selling like the wedding invitation suite, but add extra COVID-19 related items needed for the wedding to take place and ways to provide safety instructions to attending guests.
  • Multiple celebrations for one wedding: More events means more invites and party accessories, leading to more opportunities to sell and profit.
  • Green and white florals will be less popular: Warmer hues like burnt orange, deep burgundy, and vibrant purple are making a comeback. So get designing!
  • More elopements will take place: Time to add announcements and accessories to your product suite for couples to share their good news with family and friends.
  • DIY Decor is coming back in style: Help brides do DIY decor with items they would need like stickers, banners, favor bags, keepsakes etc
  • Bachelor and Bachelorette parties will stay away from bars and crowded venues and will take place at house rentals, through sites like AirBnB, instead: Welcome packages for the party invites can have many personalized gifts, which you can make and sell in your Zazzle store.
