If you are a teen, aged 13 and up, you can sign up for a free virtual Zazzle store today. Then start posting virtual products for sale in your Zazzle store. There are thousands of product types to choose from. Choose products and add your art, and photography or make designs with text, like monograms and sayings. Zazzle takes care of everything else and then pays you a royalty, once your designs sell.

How Teens Can Make Money Online?
If you search to find ways teens can make money online, there are lots of options like:
- complete surveys
- sell things on Esty or eBay
- design websites
- create apps
- do jobs on Fiverr
- tutor students
- write articles for a blog
- post videos on your YouTube channel
- and more
In this article, I am going to add Zazzle to your list of options for how teens can make money online. It’s a fantastic way for you as a teen to make money online. You can create a long-term business that will keep making money for you even when you are not working at it.
Benefits of Zazzle
Zazzle has many benefits for you as a teen. The best benefit is that you only need your laptop, internet, and your time. There are no extra costs or things you need to do besides posting great designs on products to sell. Zazzle takes care of making the product, billing the customer, shipping it, and handling customer service.
You can:
- start a store as young as age 13. You own the store and all the designs you make are your copyrighted designs.
- keep your store for many years and continue making money from items you posted for sale years earlier
- earn money through royalty payments from products that sell with your designs on them
- set your own royalty between 5% to 99%
- earn an additional 15% affiliate income if you promote and sell your own designs
- generate 15% affiliate income if you promote and sell ANY Zazzle product, including brand names like Marvel, Disney, DC, Coca-Cola and more
- post your product once and it can sell over and over again without extra work (= passive online income)
- get paid through PayPal every month
How to Get Started
It’s super easy to get started on Zazzle and it’s FREE!
Follow these easy steps:
- Go to the Zazzle.com domain and create an account (no matter which country you live in)
- On your account dashboard use the “create a store” option to open your first virtual Zazzle store
Now you are ready to create your first product for sale.
Choose Your First Product to Post for Sale
It’s easy to get started!
Follow these steps to post your first Zazzle product for sale:
- Decide what product type you want to add your design to
- Go to the top left-hand corner of the Zazzle home page to find “Create Your Own”
- Click on the “Create Your Own” drop-down menu and choose a product or category and keep going until you find the blank product you want to design.
For this article, I’m going to choose to make a poster as an example. I’m going to show you how easy it is to post a product for sale on Zazzle.
Click on “posters” under “wall art” as shown in the image above.
Then you will see this product menu (shown in the image) below. It shows all the different sizes and options available for posters. Pick the one you want and click on it.
Add Your Photo, Art, or Text
Once you click on the blank item you want to design, this type of page opens as shown below. It gives you the option to change the size and orientation, and choose other paper types, etc.
Once you are happy with your choice click “add image” OR “add text”.
I’m going to add an image so I clicked that option.
Upload your design as an image in either a jpg, png or ai format.
Your design can be your own drawing, artwork, or photo or you can use public domain commercial free images.
I have added this cute photo of a fox that I took.
You can play around with the filters, crop tool, rotate, flip options, etc. There are so many cool things you can do using this design tool.
Add Text To Your Photo
You can also create designs by adding text on top of your images or have text on its own.
Use the Zazzle Design Tool to choose from 100’s fonts, colors, sizes, etc.
You can also change the letter spacing, and text curvature, flip, and rotate the text, and more.
How to Post Your First Product For Sale on Zazzle
Once your design is done, post it for sale on the Zazzle marketplace.
Follow these easy steps:
- Click on the blue “DONE” button on the top right of the Zazzle Design Tool interface.
- Then the window will change and you will see the item on the “product page”.
- There will be 2 options “edit” or ‘sell it”.
- Click on “SELL IT”.
How to Complete the Post For Sale Section
Then a window pops up which asks you to add a lot of information.
Complete it carefully, this information helps your product get found in the Zazzle marketplace and on Google.
It’s also where you add your royalty rate.
The next 2 images (Part 1 and Part 2) show as much as possible from the form after I completed it for my fox poster.
Complete the form and click on the blue button “Post it”
Congratulations! Your Product is Now For Sale on Zazzle
If you followed along with my instructions, then you now have your first product for sale on Zazzle. You can check to see your product by clicking that option on the “Congratulations” page that pops up after you click “post-it”.
This is what my product looks like (see the image below). It has its own URL.
You can see that you have options to share your product on social media to get your friends to buy it.
Now you can make more products because I’ve shown you the easy-to-follow steps.

With these simple-to-follow steps outlined in this article, you can now post your art, photography, drawings, and graphic designs on Zazzle and start making money from royalties. You can build a long-term online business that can help you earn spending money, your college tuition, or even become your full-time income. My daughter Jennifer started on Zazzle as a hobby. Once she started making more money she turned it into her full-time job.
You can decide how much you will build up your Zazzle business and how much you want to earn. That is the best part of Zazzle.
