Use Zazzle Groupon Offerings to Promote and Sell Your Products an Article by Zazzle Diamond ProDesigner Elke Clarke

Do you want more exposure and sales of your products? Then take part in one of the Zazzle Groupon offerings which occur throughout the year. To be selected, post designs for sale in the category product type that Zazzle will be offering in the Groupon promotion. Just make sure you set your royalty for 10% and add the tag “ZGROUPON” as one of your 10 power tags. There are no limits to the number of products you submit for selection by Zazzle staff. If included in the Groupon offer, you will gain wide online exposure for your products. This unique promotion strategy will hopefully lead to more sales of your products in your Zazzle store.

Have you been looking for creative ways to get your products promoted and make more sales? Consider being part of one of Zazzle’s Groupon Offerings. It is now easier than ever to submit your design for selection by Zazzle staff. If chosen, your product will gain exposure to millions of customers. It is a great business opportunity which you should consider.

What is a Zazzle Groupon Offering?

Groupon is a worldwide online e-commerce marketplace connecting millions of subscribers with merchants by offering activities, travel, goods, and services in more than 28 countries.

Zazzle provides special discounts through Groupon several times a year. You can search for ongoing offers easily online. I found this offer below on the Groupon site.

When I clicked through, I was taken to a landing page showcasing 3 wedding cards from Zazzle. See the image below.

Whether your product is featured or just in the list of eligible products that customers can choose from you benefit. Groupon has a wide reach of customers who may not normally be on Zazzle to shop. This gives you great exposure to new customers.

When a customer clicks on the other small images below the main one or uses the slider arrows, they are taken to the other categories, to which the offer applies to. These include baby showers and kids’ birthday party invitation cards. So there are many different opportunities for you as a designer. Read further down in the article for more information on the themes.

How can your products be considered for the latest Zazzle Groupon Offerings?

Just as I am about to post this article, Zazzle sent out a newsletter today asking for submissions for the Groupon offerings. It is obviously something Zazzle wants us as designers to take full advantage of. I certainly am and I hope you do too.

The Groupon requirements are outlined in the Zazzle forum news thread, which I have reposted here below for your convenience.

Your product must have a flat royalty of 10%.

  • It must be published on a 5×7 flat card with front and back as the default view.
  • It must have an easy-to-use template.
  • Cards that include designs on the back are preferred.
  • You must tag your cards and collections with ZGROUPON. This tag will help our merchandising team find your submission/s for review. Cards not tagged with ZGROUPON will not be considered.

It is super easy! Just make sure you are at 10% royalty and add “zgroupon” as a power tag so that it is searchable on Zazzle.

What are the deadlines for Groupon Submissions?

To find out when the Zazzle merchandising team is looking for submissions, you can look in the Zazzle News Forum or your designer newsfeed on your homepage, for specific deadline dates. See the image below for the Zazzle forum post requesting 2017 Graduate Card Designs.

5 Themes You Can Design For a Zazzle Groupon Offering Feed

Products being offered are found in Zazzle’s Groupon Feeds. These are specific URLS  that Groupon customers are directed to see what designs are eligible for the Groupon discount.

As Zazzle Designers, we can also see which of our designs have been chosen. If you notice an increase in sales of one of your products it might be because it is part of the Groupon feed.

Zazzle’s Groupon feeds have five themes you can design for depending on the deadlines for each. The URLs are provided below:

1. Wedding

https://www.zazzle.com/groupon_wedding_cards

2. Baby Shower

https://www.zazzle.com/groupon_babyshower_cards

3. Birthday

4. Holiday

https://www.zazzle.com/groupon_holiday_cards

5. Graduation

Not all the feeds are usually available for current promotions, but at the time of writing this article, all the above links were working. So hopefully you can have a look and see if any of your cards were chosen.

I found my graduate card designs in the feed (see the image below).

Benefits of Being Part of a Zazzle Groupon Offering

Key benefits can include increased exposure to new customers and additional sales. I have realized this from being part of past Zazzle Groupon offerings.

Previously, I had my wedding thank you card not only be part of the offer but promoted on the landing page. See the image below. I saw a noticeable increase in my sales of that item.

How do you have the back of the card show as the secondary photo? I have a small design on it, and the inside parts are blank, but the inside left is what shows up in the little photo next to my main front-of-card image. And it is just blank.

Hi Elke, thank you for all your amazing useful posts. I have completed your Zazzle Beginners course and have to say that it is one of the best courses I have ever done. Not only is it well structured but I also found it very motivational and completed the whole thing! It wasn’t long (a couple of weeks) before one of my items (the invitation that I made in the course and a mug) sold and it was very rewarding. I did see the Groupon information in the Designers Newsfeed but decided not to bother and one of the reasons was the 10%. After reading your post and seeing things in a different light I have decided to give it a go. I don’t have all that many designs but some of them haven’t had many views at all so I thought it is better to have my products seen (if chosen) and maybe get some sales than none at all. With regards to the 10% I am still not sure what percentage to use. I think I would feel better about a smaller percentage if I was getting consistent sales. I price most of my products at 14.5%
