I recently attended a bridal show in Mallorca Spain, where I was inspired by the latest wedding trends for 2017. Brides were excited to see what is popular this year. I was so inspired myself. I went home and designed new Zazzle products that afternoon! Do you want to feel inspired? In this article, I will show you how you can use bridal shows to get caught up on the latest wedding trends and find inspiration for your Zazzle products.

The lemons were a big trend at the event I was at. It added a fresh and rustic twist to the traditional foliage wedding theme. Lemons were used as decoration on the wedding cake, table decor and to spice up the ceremony seating area. It added a fresh touch and a beautiful pop of color.

Bohemian Lemon and Leaves Wedding Invitation by the Antique Chandelier

I was so inspired by the lemons I saw at the show, that I went home and designed a new wedding invitation right away. It is a perfect design for any spring or summer wedding.

Now I am going to go and make matching items for this invitation suite. I am also going to post products for sale that will be used at the wedding reception like paper napkins, table number cards, place cards, wedding seating plans, wedding favor boxes, menu cards and photo booth signs to name a few items.

If you sell wedding items in your Zazzle store, or would like to start, then check out wedding shows, bridal magazines and Pinterest for the most popular wedding trends. It is time consuming making all the wedding related items. You therefore want to make sure you focus on the latest trends to have the best chance of having your designs sell.

You should also offer products with proper text templates so that brides can easily personalize your designs. If you are a beginner or have not yet learned how to do this properly but want to learn how to create text templates, you can sign up for my course that walks you through, step by step, on how to set up an invitation.

I agree that keeping an eye on trends helps inspire us to make new designs that will sell. But you never know just what will sell. After learning that marble accents were the hottest new decor trend I made several items with a beautiful marble texture. And what marble items did I sell? Marble bottle openers! Lots of them! Who knew they’d be a hot item.

I haven’t made a lot of wedding invitations, but my most popular one is a dark, moody, purple Gothic style. They’ve been very popular. So sometimes it’s not always trends, but providing something that is not easy to find but fills a niche.

Thank you for this article. I’m off to check out some new trends now 🙂

Elke thank you for sending out these newsletters. They have really helped me increase my sales. In fact I just had my 100th sale (and finally achieved Zazzle pro-seller status). I opened a new store to follow along with your 7-day course. It has had a consistent Z-Rank of 5 since it’s second week. To my amazement, it has produced 47 of my 100 sales to date.

Every time I receive one one of your newsletters, I take a few days and focus on those tips. I always see a few sales right away.

Thanks for the tip. I haven’t made any wedding designs but have been succesful with general home decor unrelated to weddings. Even so, if something is popular for weddings that theme could make it into purchases for a new shared home and wedding gifts. So I googled “wedding trends 2017” and got some ideas that can be translated into home decor, possibly that could be given as a wedding gift.

I took your beginner course and it had some good tips. I hope you are going to make an advanced course next.

Thank you Brenda! Thank you for your comment! You are very right that you need to try creating products that fill a niche as well. No one can determine which products will sell, so you need to cover all the basics!

Elke, I’m taking your 7 day course at the moment. Now, I’m a guy and organizationally, my store is a mess… didn’t pay attention to Categories, I just stated making stuff and after seeing your course I realized I should be more organized in my presentation. I hope there’s someway to edit my long list of items into respective categories… Okay, on to day 4!

I wanted to reiterate what NellieQ Designs said, Thank you so much for your blog and newsletter, as well as your ebook. My sales have definitely increased since I’ve purchased your first course. I don’t really consider myself a beginner but it still taught me so much and the blog and newsletter just add to my education. I appreciate you so much. You have given me the courage and encouragement to stay with Zazzle and give it more of my attention. What a blessing you are.

And of course, I have another question.

Do you think it’s better to start other stores that concentrate on a specific niche, like business, or keep all products in my main store that has a fairly high Z rank and just separate products by setting up collections? I’m never sure what to do there. It seems like it would take so long to get a niche store Z rank up and I’m just not sure how valuable a niche store really is to sales?

Hi Ann Marie. Thank you for your comment and positive feedback. I am so happy for you that you are seeing positive results and sales after implementing my course. I wish you continued success.

To answer your question, you should stick with one store as long as the niche you want to add is not so different that it does not fit in anyway to your established store. For example. You have an occasions store set up and now you want to add a political section. Unless the political items were also in some way related to your occasions theme of your whole store, you should start a new politics store. If you post relevant and desirable products in your new store and implement my beginners course formula for success you should see results in your new store as well within a reasonable time period. Hope that helps. Elke

Hi Robert. Yes you can definitely fix your categories. It might take a while for you to see the products moved over to the new category folders, so make sure you have a system to keep track of what you have moved and where it you moved it to. I find sometimes I get lost in my own mess and end up moving the same items over again because I still “See” them in the old category folder.

Hi Susannah, Yes you are correct, sometimes wedding trends can be popular as home decor items. Think personalized wedding gifts for the newlyweds in their new home together!

Thank you for purchasing and taking my beginners course “7 Days to Success by Elke Clarke”. I am working on an advanced course and will announce when it is ready for purchase.
