    Hi Elke.
I read your testimony and watch that interview and they were very encouraging. When you signed up with zazzle did you already have a business name or did you make one up when you signed up? Do you need a business licence to sign up with zazzle. I didn’t find that information on zazzle website. I don’t have a website. Thank you so much for sharing your testimony.
    Sincerely
    Deborah

    Hi Deborah.
I do not know what country you are from, so I do not know the rules about business licenses which apply to you. You need to research and find out what applies under your country’s tax and business rules.

The essence for a business license is to register your business with the government in order that you can collect sales tax and remit. Since Zazzle handles the taxes on the product sales, you are not responsible for that. Obviously, you still need to report your income that you make from Zazzle, either as a sole proprietorship (if it is just you and you are just starting out) or under some sort of formalized structure like an incorporated business (INC) or limited liability company (LLC). For those just starting out and not earning a substantial amount of money, the sole proprietorship is sufficient.

I did not have a business name when I started. In hindsight, I think it is important to have one if you are starting out now.

    Hope that helps
    Elke

Hi, thanks for the very informative post. Wow what a success you’ve had with Zazzle and at the Diamond level! Bet many don’t get to that point unfortunately, but hey you never know down the road, right? I downloaded your free book info. and look forward to reading it. All of my life I’ve naturally been drawn to arts and crafts and will always love painting, and photography, etc. I’ve been a Zazzle designer and seller in the U S. several years now and have made nice sales, which is nice to know people like your designs, but wish the profits were higher and sales more consistent, but then again the Zazzle marketplace is so full of artists, and brand name companies more so now too so a lot to compete with! Love seeing independent artists unique styles. Still love the Zazzle opportunity and platform and their range of products! Thanks.
